"Spare change?" Koda shakes his coffee tin at passing pedestrians. Most of whom where rushing off to work. All business suits and no change. A few coins rattle inside the rusty can with each shake.
Not one of them even looked at koda, some even went as far to avoid walking past him.
Koda is cold, hungry and feels awful. All he wants is enough change to get a cheap coffee from a corner vender to start his day and set up somewhere.
As he walks through the crowded morning street he occasionally stops to ask random people for change in hope someone feels sorry for him and chucks a couple coins his way. His backpack with his old, thin sleeping bag in and dirty clothes weighs him down on his back. He's so tired.
Koda wears a scruffy waterproof coat which has seen many better days, with thick, dirty black sweat pants he can't remember the last time he washed.
His hair was almost at the point of dread locks now, with it not being washed in weeks, his brunette shoulder length hair was a mess. He covered his hair well with a black, cotton beanie hat.
As Koda walked along the street two individuals made a donation to koda which meant he could have his coffee!
He hurried to get to his local coffee man and ordered a small black coffee.
"Thanks Tony." Koda breathes in the bitter smell of freshly ground coffee.
"No problem kid, haven't seen you in a while. How you been?" Tony was one of the first people koda met in New York. He beat him with a broom for sleeping up against his coffee cart. Since then, they became friends of sorts.
Koda is one of the youngest men Tony has seen on the streets. He helps the young boy out when he can with coffee and spare change.
"Could be better. The soup kitchen closed last week. So I've been struggling. Haven't showered or been able to wash my clothes like I normally do." Koda said softly feeling sorry for himself.
He never imagined his life to go this way. How can he be homeless at the age of 17 years old? His parents don't want to know him. Nor any of his family.
He's become worthless. No one loves him or cares for him.
The last six months Koda had to learn how to fend for himself with the whole world against him.
"That's a shame, wish I could help you out some. Here I have a couple bucks for you." Tony hands him his money back for the coffee with a little extra.
"Thank you." Koda quickly slips the money into his pocket.
"I'll be on my way now. Thank you Tony." Koda starts walking off giving a wave.
He heads towards the big office buildings.
One of his friends told him about how great and giving some people were in the centre.
He only hopes he doesn't get arrested or moved on by the police.
Koda's tummy aches in hunger.
He can't remember the last time he ate hot food. He needs to earn enough money for some decent, proper food.
As Koda was mindlessly looking into his coffee cup as he walked along the bustling street a car pulled up beside him. A man hurriedly jumped out of the car as Koda walked by.
They instantly crashed into one another. Koda tumbled to the floor spilling his coffee everywhere.
The man was taken back too at being bombarded by Koda. Anger instantly rises In the man.
"My coffee!" Koda cries as he hurriedly gets up off of the ground to confront the man.
"You owe me a coffee!" Koda wailed.
He made eye contact with the business man. Koda couldn't help but stare, feeling intimidated. This man is breathtaking.
Thin build, with a sharp jawline, the perfect amount of stubble graced his face right up to his perfectly cut and styled hair. He wore a professional expensive navy blue suit with a matching tie. He could tell this man in front of him is a high class business man.
Koda couldn't hold the mans intense eye contact as he complained about his coffee.
For a moment, Koda didn't think the man was going to respond to him as he brushed himself off.
"Maybe you should watch where you are going instead of at the floor boy!" The angry man snarled. He brushed passed Koda and walked into his building.
Even though Adrian Pennington showed anger he felt an unfamiliar feeling he has never felt before. He wasn't sure what to feel.
When he saw Koda on the floor, when Koda looked up at him with his deep blue eyes looking so hurt, lost and drained he couldn't help the pang of guilt, affection he instantly felt for the young man. His face is grubby and dirt stained but Adrian could still see his beautiful prominent cheekbones. He could only imagine how amazing his hair would look if properly washed and taken care of.
As he made his way to the building doors he turned to look at Koda beg people for change.
Adrian felt a strong overwhelming urge to turn back to the homeless scruff. He wants to know his story. Why is he homeless? How old is he?
What's his name?
This only made Adrian angrier as he knew he couldn't do that. He had people waiting for him upstairs.
His security held the glass doors open for Adrian to step into his building.
"Everything ok Sir?" His security guard Felix, asked.
"No Felix, I want you to find out every thing you can about that boy who just ran into me. Right now. Give me his file by the end of the day." Adrian ordered as he strolled into his building to attend to his business.
He rushed to the top floor going straight for his office.
His business partner Matthew Graham waiting for him inside.
"Matthew." Adrian greeted as he went straight for his coffee machine.
"Why are you in my office?" Adrian asks as he goes to stand next to his partner who is looking out the window.
Adrian saw he was watching Koda walk up and down the street with his beaten down backpack and spare change tin.
"Waiting for you, my dear friend. I see you've been having an eventful morning." Matthew mused.
Adrian knew he saw Koda crash into him.
"Shut up." Adrian grumbled.
He took one last look at Koda and turned to sit at his desk. Firing up his computer he began to work.
"How did the panel meeting go in Seattle?" Adrian asked.
"It went well. Everyone is on board I might have got a new donor too." Matthew sounded pleased.
"Good." Adrian said.
"We have a meeting with the board about the new community starting up in 10 minutes do you need a brief?" Matthew asks his friend.
Matthew and Adrian met in college. Typical friends shared a dorm room together. Both of them getting business degrees, they both had the great idea to start up a company straight out of college. Not wanting just any company, they aimed high and scored big. The company they have equal shares to, makes billions a year.
Both men are goal orientated, they knew what they wanted and worked their asses off to get it. It paid off fantastically. Both realising early on in their friendship that they are as kinky as one another worked in their favour.
As the years have drawn on and money doesn't seem to cease flowing their goals now are to expand the amazing company they have. They are on the verge of going global.
Neither Matthew or Adrian have a little of their own. Their jobs get in the way. The hours are long and hard. Sometimes working days on end. It's no life to bring a little into at the moment.
Both men long for someone to love though. They see littles and caregivers daily. Working so closely with such relationships will eventually make you bitter and envious.
"I'm actually going to sit this meeting out. You can deal with them on your own can't you? Tell them I have other business to do and I will send them the annual reports this evening." Adrian said.
Matthew stood in front of Adrian's desk with his hand in his pant pocket looking confused.
"What's got into you lately? You've never missed a meeting, today you came in late and you're in more of a foul mood today than any other day." Mathew commented.
Adrian looked up from his computer.
"It's this new community. It feels like there's something missing. It's one of our bigger communities Matt. We are hours away by plane what if something goes wrong and neither of us can get there in time?" Adrian frets.
Matthew heaves a sigh.
"Yeah that's why we are not releasing or announcing it yet. Look, I have to go if you're not coming with me. I'll be back after and we can brainstorm ideas. If worst comes to worst one of us is going to have to relocate." Matthew checks his watch before leaving Adrian alone in his office.
Adrian runs his hand through his hair and heaves a sigh.
He spins around in his desk chair to face the window which covers the entire of his back wall. He searches the street for Koda and sees him sitting on a step trying not to doze off.
Adrians company takes the homeless off the street all the time to become littles if they fit the right criteria. Adrian and Matthew spent years perfecting their formula to what makes a perfect little. What helps a little regress. So much time and effort was put in to make the men successful.
Not wanting to look away from Koda Adrian sighs knowing he has to. He turns back around and picks up his phone.
Dialling his PA he waits impatiently for her to answer.
"Rebecca, where are you? Why are you not here? And where is my weekly report?" Adrian fires at the girl before she even gets a chance to say hello.
"I am on my way into work now, I am not there because I had an appointment this morning which I reminded you of yesterday, and I emailed you your weekly statistics report first thing this morning Mr. Pennington." His PA breathes out.
"Before you get here I want you to buy a black coffee. There is a homeless man sitting on the stairs out the front of the building give it to him. Tell him to have a good day." Adrian doesn't wait for her to answer he puts the phone back down.
Rebecca is used to Adrians high demand. Although he's never been the charity type she is not one to question her boss. She has been his PA nearly a year now. After so many came and went she stayed. He payed too well. Even with his crazy demands and dominant demeanour. He knew what he wanted, what's so bad in that?
Adrian managed to find his files he was looking for and set to work for the next half an hour.
He couldn't resist looking round at Koda multiple times.
As he finished his work he stood up from his chair, poured another coffee and stood at the window watching.

Koda is cold, and still very hungry. He stayed in his spot by the stairs. A few people passing handed him their spare change they got from the food venders which he appreciated.
Adrian noticed Rebecca down at the coffee cart ordering the coffee Adrian told her to.
She briefly surveyed the area before locking eyes with Koda.
She quickly gave him the coffee and her change before hurrying indoors.
Koda stood up and looked around.
He can't believe someone bought him a coffee! A total stranger at that!
The whole time Koda has been homeless not once has that happened. He's over the moon.
Seeing Koda so surprised and happy with a simple cup of coffee made Adrian feel warm and good inside. He didn't know why he felt such a strong connection with Koda. He only knew he must have him.
Adrian carries on his day as he usually would. Meetings, phone consultations and many, many, emails back and forth. All throughout his day he was distracted by his own thoughts which made his job in running an entire business harder. He knew he was beginning to piss Matthew off too with being so distracted. Adrian was angry with himself. He just couldn't help it.
For Koda, his day went surprisingly well he had enough money for food with some to spare. This is definitely going to be a regular spot for him if luck goes his way. As the day drew to an end Koda met up with the few friends he made along the way. He shared some of his snack food with them.
"Thanks K dog, where you been at all day!" His friend jimmy asks as he munched the sandwhich Koda supplied him with.
"No where special. Just walking around the city. I got bored of doing the same shit all day every day." Koda mumbled.
They where all huddled around a barely lit fire for warmth under a undercarriage. All they heard was cars racing past. Probably to get home to their families and warm cosy beds. Koda thought dismally.
"Hey cheer up dude. Here stick this under your tongue. You look like you need one." One of his other friends came over to him and slipped a small pink pill in his mouth.
Koda happily obliged knowing he will be carefree soon and not give a damn that he smells bad or doesn't have a roof over his head. It looks like he will be sleeping here tonight anyway. So why not make it a little more interesting with the magic pills that make Koda feel happy and carefree. They all sit around the fire and tell each other about their day. Koda didn't care much, already feeling the effects of the drug that was forced into his mouth. Not even bothering to ask where it came from or who's it was. That shit was to be worried about for another day. Another time. Right now is for the pretty sparking embers which are mesmerising  in the fire, the few friends he has around him and the warm fuzzy feeling in his mind willing him to let go. Everything is great. Life is great. Right now, Koda is great...

Authors note:
So this is the start of Koda, I'm still really insecure about this one and I'm not sure how it's going to go. Only time shall tell I guess. I hope you like it! 💙
