Here's the new update, enjoy!!! xx

Donghae's mom was so nice to me and she treated me just as if I was her own. It was nice and comforting to have a mother figure in my life again.

"So, Donghae tells me you're in University? What do you study?" Hyang-sook asked. We were sitting in the living room, having a cup of tea and some cake we brought with us from the bakery on the way home from the train station.

Hyang-sook insisted that we dropped by the bakery to get some cake and some steamed buns with red bean paste. All we could do was obey because she didn't really leave any choice to object in any way.

"I'm studying PR and Business, my major. but I'm not really sure what I want to do with it when I finish..." I trailed off staring down at my hands not really knowing what else to say about my studies.

Her lips curled into a gentle smile, "Don't worry, you'll figure it out. You'll have plenty of opportunities with a degree in PR and Business, darling."

My heart warmed at her statement and I couldn't help but return the smile, "Thank you."

"Donghae also mentioned you already met my oldest son? Dong-Hwa?" She said leaning forward and taking a sip of her black tea with sugar and milk.

Oh yeah, I'd met Dong-Hwa and his wife at the restaurant. How could I forget? I hadn't seen them since, but back then I wasn't Donghae's girlfriend. How long had it been? It had to be around September, next week would be the first day of December, so it'd been a few months since then.

"Yes, that's right. I met Dong-Hwa and Jung-soo at the restaurant I worked at a few months back. They were having dinner there at the time," I remembered suddenly and told her about the shift at the restaurant where Donghae had come back for me and driven me home. Then I also told her about the incident at the store with the robber and the gunshot.

Donghae had told her most of the story in broad strokes and I filled all the gaps he'd missed. She seemed quite concerned and horrified by the events that had transpired at the time.

I was so comfortable around that I told her everything that had happened in my life, just as if I was speaking to my mom again.

We spent most of the afternoon talking about different things and I opened up about my mothers passing and she told me about Donghae's dad and we really bonded over that.

Donghae had left us soon after we came back to the apartment because there was an issue at SM he had to sort out and he hadn't come back yet. So Hyang-sook and I decided to go out to the market and get some things for dinner.

"I know this good market just down the road. I often go there when I visit my boys," she turned a corner, pointing down to a market further down the street. I followed her willingly as we walked together to the market.

We decided to make bulgogi and found the various ingredients for it. For me, it was very interesting to follow her around the market and seeing how swiftly she looked for ingredients and asked the saleswomen for what she needed exactly without hesitation.

Some of the older women knew her because she was always there when she came to visit. It was amazing to see her interact with them and they even gave us some things for free, like spicy rice cakes, some tofu and hoeddoek.

"Alright, I think that's all. Let's head back so we can cook some dinner," she checked the plastic bags and nodded in approvement. Then we headed home, hauling the many plastic bags of food and ingredients.

When we got back, Donghae was sitting in the living room watching some tv show. "Oh you're back?" he smiled at us and got up from the couch, turning off the tv. He came over and gave me a quick peck on the lips before greeting his mom with a small peck on the cheek.

"Did you just get back?" I asked following Hyang-sook into the kitchen to put all the plastic bags down and unpack. "20 minutes ago," he replied following us into the kitchen.

"I missed you," he pulled me towards him and hugged me tightly before placing a soft kiss on my lips. "Your mom's here, don't embarrass me," I groaned at him and blushed lightly because his mom was also in the kitchen and I didn't feel like kissing moment should be in front of his mom.

"It's alright. I think it's sweet, I'm just happy my Donghae has finally found someone to love," she smiled and looked at Donghae all motherly and proud.

"Ahh mommy, don't start," He began but Hyang-sook just gave him a puzzled look and shrugged.

"What? I'm not starting anything," she glanced sideways at him and put last things away in the fridge.

I giggled at their cute exchange and wrapped my arms around Donghae's waist looking up at him lovingly. He looked down at me and cocked his head to one side and lifted up his hand placing a strand of my hair behind my ear and kissing my forehead.

"And... that's my cue to go to the bathroom," Hyang-sook announced and left the kitchen for the bathroom. We both watched after her as she left and chuckled to each other.

"Now's the time to get in a kiss," Donghae snickered and placed his lips on mine melting together for a minute before pulling apart.

"Your mom's the best," I stated as we pulled apart from the kiss. He gave me a quizzical look and smiled, "Not what I expected after a kiss, but okay."

"Sorry, I ruined the moment. I just had to let you know," I giggled and hid my face in his chest and groaned loudly. "Don't worry, I still love you," he teased and rubbed my back gently with both of his hands.

"But yeah, my mom's pretty great," he said and cupped my cheeks giving my lips a brisk peck. "It's nice talking to her, I'm glad I finally met her," I added.

"I'm happy you two get along, that's all I wished for," he kissed my nose and snaked his arm around my waist hugging me. I hugged back.
