My entire body is shaking as I pace around the empty dressing room. Grayson left to inform Jake about my little crisis. I can hear Ian's voice singing Let it Be from here, and the sound makes my skin crawl. I'm still wearing my sweater and yoga pants, my hair is still basic and boring, my face is bare. It's been a half hour since Lanie left to grab me another dress. It's now a quarter to eight, and time is ticking.

"Stella?" Carter's voice calls from the hallway.

"In here." I manage to say through my shaky voice.

He slowly enters the dressing room, his brown eyes latching onto my scared expression. "Why aren't you dressed?" Worry laces in his voice.

"Violet stole my dress and shoes." I say while eyeing his clean appearance. He looks handsome in his suit and tie.

"Wait, hold on." He holds his hands up to try and process everything. "She actually took your dress?"

"It's not really that shocking." I helplessly shrug.

"Well, what are you-"

"Lanie is getting me another one. I don't know where she is, though." I look down at the messages that delivered to her phone. She has yet to answer.

"Okay, that's fine. You're fine." He says while taking in deep breaths. "We still have time before we go on. Don't let this affect your nerves. It's just a minor set back."

"It's a major set back." I correct him with a sigh.

"Stella!" Lanie's voice booms from down the hallway.

I rush toward the door, seeing my best friend inhaling a deep breath. "I'm all ready to glam you out."

"Holy shit, my savior." I look down at the black bag in her hand, hiding the dress from my view.

"Get to it. I'm going to make sure the choir is warming up." Carter says while exiting the room.

"I'm not sure if you're going to like the dress, but it's all I could come up with last minute." Lanie unzips the bag, and a white dress is revealed to me.

She holds it against her tall frame, and I really get a good look at it. It's a short dress that ends mid-thigh, but it has long sleeves which are lace.

She pulls nude heels out, similar to the ones on her feet. Inhaling a breath, I nod my head in approval.

"It's gorgeous." I can't help but say.

"I know it's shorter, but it's all I could think of that would fit your body shape. It was part of my summer collection, but I hated the long sleeve pattern. I mean, who really wears long sleeves in the summer? That's why I-"

"Wait, you made this?" My jaw hangs low as I take the dress out of her hand and look at it closely.

"Yeah, it was supposed to go in my fashion show. I ended up scratching the idea." She says in a rushed tone.

I quickly remove my clothes, not caring if anyone walks in. Slipping the dress over my head, it hugs onto my body in a comfortable fashion. After adjusting it, I rush over to the mirror behind the closet door.

"It's a perfect fit. How the fuck is it a perfect fit?" My eyes widen as I turn back to Lanie. She's plugging in her curling iron and opening up her makeup bag.

"Sometimes I had your measurements in mind while designing my clothes. If it's a little tight, just let me know."

"It's perfect." I slip the heels onto my feet and march over to Lanie. I wobble a little, but I need to get used to the feeling.
