Colin Mulder. I don't personally know the man, but I already want to throw him a party or buy him a drink at some sleazy Manhattan bar. He's the baseball coach at St. Joseph's College, and he called my amazing boyfriend to come in for an interview today. Despite Grayson's nerves, he's going to get this job. There's no way they can turn him down.
A large smile sits on my face as I button up Grayson's white long sleeve shirt. He rolls up his sleeves and looks back at our mirror.
"I'm nervous." He mumbles while checking out his attire.
"Now who's using the word." I roll my eyes and place my hands on his arms. "You look great, super professional."
"What if I don't get the job?" He turns back around and gulps.
"Dolan, why wouldn't you? You're one of the best baseball players out there. It doesn't matter that you took a year off. I mean, isn't this what you wanted? To have a way to keep baseball in your life?"
"Yeah, you're right. Becoming an assistant coach and possibly going back to school is major. I can't mess this opportunity up." He nods his head while walking across our bedroom to grab his jacket.
"You look incredibly sexy." I bite down on my lower lip and stare at his broad chest and ripped muscles, which are visible through his shirt.
"Nope, I refuse to let you distract me." He shakes his head and makes sure to avoid glancing my way.
"Okay, fine." I throw my hands up in defense. "But if you get the job, I will make sure we celebrate all night long."
"I should head out." He glances down at his watch, then he lifts his head up to look at me. "I love you so much."
My heart flutters when he leans down to place a soft kiss on my lips. I close my eyes and savor the feeling, before slowly pulling away.
"I love you, Dolan. You're going to kill this interview." I say as we both walk down the stairs, heading to the main floor.
My eyes latch on to Ethan and Jake sitting at the kitchen table. My brother is scrolling through his phone and Grayson's brother is writing something down on a piece of paper.
"All right, I'm off to my interview." My boyfriend announces, causing them both to look up.
"You're going to do awesome, man. Good luck." Ethan gets up and walks over to him, bringing him into a quick and firm hug.
"I would wish you luck, but you don't need it. This job is all yours." Jake says with a small smile.
"Keep me updated, I'll see you later." I kiss his cheek again, causing his face to flush.
"I'll text you when I get there." He smiles before walking toward the elevator.
I step into the kitchen once he's gone, taking a seat at the table. "Where's Lanie?"
"At school, I'm meeting up with her in a few minutes." Ethan tells me.
"So, big weekend. Are you going to bring up the proposal to your parents?" I ease my way into the subject.
"Yeah, I already found the perfect ring." He pulls his phone out of his pocket and scrolls through his pictures. He turns the screen, and both Jake and I jump to look at it.
A loud gasp escapes my lips as I stare at the breathtaking ring that is in my view. It's a princess-cut diamond. It's set on a platinum band with beautiful round diamonds surrounding it.
"I don't even want to know how much that was." Jake breaks the ice by saying.
"Holy shit, that's the nicest engagement ring I have ever seen." Well, to be fair, it's pretty much the only engagement ring I've ever seen.
