Octavia stood there not knowing what to do. Everyone around her was on their phones calling their parents but no one got through to anyone. After minutes of trying, everyone came to the conclusion that their families were all asleep and so everyone headed of towards their homes.

Whilst walking home loud claps of thunder and bright strikes of lightning were happening all around her. The cold night air blew towards her, making the brunette girl wrap her jacket around her even tighter. Her phone flash light lit the path so she could see where she was going. She hated walking alone, especially at night.

Octavia unlocked her front door and headed into the living room. She stood there for a second noticing how quiet the house was, she wasn't used to this type of silence. She rushed upstairs and walked over to her dads room, "trips cancelled due to the storm, thank god," she said, opening his bedroom door. She scanned the room noticing he wasn't in there, which she thought was odd. She ran to her sisters room and forcefully pushed open the door to see that her sister wasn't in her room either.

"Dad!" The girl shouted, running around the house, checking every room and turning every light on.

"Guys it's not funny please," she shouted but not receiving any response.

She though that it was all a prank, she was telling herself over and over again that her family knew she was here and they were hiding from her. She didn't want to believe anything else, she didn't want to believe that they were gone. But most of all she didn't want to believe that she was alone.

She felt her phone go off in her pocket, she quickly grabbed it hoping that it was from her father. To her disappointment she saw that it was a message from everyone, no ones parents seemed to be home.

This made her panic, she didn't know what was happening but what she did know was that it wasn't good, she knew that this meant she had been left behind and her family were gone. She sat on her kitchen stool, looking down at her hands that were shaking. Her heart was beating fast and her breathing was getting quicker. She tried to hold back her tears but it was getting harder by the second. A message telling her to meet on the green caused her to run out of her house and towards the meeting point. She had hoped someone was there to tell them where their families had gone.

When the meeting point was in front of her she strolled over to the group of students. She stood alone, shaking and trying not to cry. She was scared and didn't know what to do.

"Hey, so who decided we needed a flash mod?" she heard Grizz say from behind her. She saw him and Clark come and stand by the girl, them not wanting her to be alone.

"I did," Cassandra replied, causing Octavia to roll her eyes. She had never liked the older Pressman sister, she saw her as bossy and she wasn't someone she wished to be friends with.

"What the fuck cassandra," Grizz said, clearly showing he was annoyed at the girl.

"It's better than 200 people sending texts," Cassandra glared at the three.

"Has anyone been able to reach anyone," the blonde girl asked, not wanting to continue the conversation with Grizz.

"no," everyone replied.

"There's a simple explanation... they were evacuated after we left and there was a miscommunication and we were bought back here," Cassandra tried to convince everyone but Octavia was having none of it. She knew that Cassandra was trying to make everyone feel better.

She had told everyone to go back home to sleep and that she would figure it out in the morning. The last thing Octavia wanted to do was sleep, all she wanted to do was figure out where her family was. Thinking about them made her panic, it made her heart drop.

"Are you ok?" Grizz asked the girl, watching everyone else gather around with alcohol. The girl nodded in response but Grizz looked at her, knowing she was lying.

"I just don't want to be alone, I know my dad would never leave me behind so this whole thing seems odd. If they were evacuated my dad would at least leave me a note," she said, the taller boy pulling her into his side.

"the fucking church is open," they both heard Jason shout, making them turn towards the church.

"I can walk you home if you don't want to go," Grizz said.

"No i'll be fine, go have fun," she said to him, watching him then head towards the church.

━━━━━━━━

She ran into her bathroom and locked her self in it. All she was telling herself was that she was dreaming. She kept telling herself that over and over again but she came to realise that she wasn't dreaming.

She stared at herself in the mirror, her eyes were glossy as she was trying to hold back tears. She backed away towards her door and slid down it whilst crying. She was breaking down. She couldn't help but cry out of fear. What the girl feared most was believe left alone, being abandoned by her family and right now she felt like exactly that was happening. She felt as if she was the only one that cared, everyone else was out partying in the church whilst she was in her bathroom crying.

She made her way towards her younger sisters room. She walked towards the bed and laid in it. She felt as if this was her comfort. She glanced over towards the photo frame beside her bed and saw a photo of the three, it made her smile whilst a tear rolled down her cheek. Not long after she fell asleep with hope that she would wake up and all of this would just be a nightmare. She had hoped that she would be woken up by the smell of pancakes drifting from the kitchen, and the sound of her sister running into her room to wake her up. Little did she know she would never see her sister or father, at least for a while.
