Two weeks later...
Betty had finally gotten off bed rest and was allowed to work as FP's maid. She was happy to get back to work with a more appreciative boss. He let Betty off a few hours early because he didn't want her doing too much. One of the things Betty likes most about working for FP was that she didn't have to wear any sort of uniform. She could literally wear anything she wanted which made her look less like a maid. Her clothes didn't have dirt stains on them from having one dress she wore every day. She also enjoyed the free time she had after work and on the weekends. She never had that when she worked for Mr. Jones. He decided that she worked everyday to make his house clean and could only leave if he liked how spotless everything was. FP had a bigger house but it wasn't hard to clean because he only stayed in certain rooms and cleaned up after himself, unlike Mr. Jones.
Meanwhile, Jughead was lonely as ever, regretting and mentally hitting himself for being so stupid as to let Betty go work for her dad. He was understanding how hard he was on her and how much he made her do on a daily basis when he didn't even know anything about her. He didn't even know her last name. He was just realizing he was a horrible boss. If he were on Betty's position he would go work for FP as well. He was conjuring up a plan in his head for how to get Betty back. He knew his dad didn't exactly trust him with Betty and encouraged him to clean his own house for a bit before hiring a new maid to show him how hard they work but Jughead didn't want a new maid, he wanted Betty back. He missed her so much, much more then he thought he would. He decided the best way to regain his father's and Betty's trust was to show them how good he can treat her. So he went to the store, bought roses, a card, and some chocolates, and went to his dad's house to give them to Betty. He knew his dad wasn't at his house that day, he was on a business trip. He knocked on the door and waited. A couple minutes later, the door opened and Betty stood there, looking beautiful as ever. He noticed how much better she looked. Her hair was in a neat ponytail, there were no bags under her eyes, her clothes were stainless, and her eyes seemed to glow. She smiled softly at him as he stood outside the door, admiring her. "Oh, hey Mr. Jones. FP isn't here right now, he's on a business trip. I assumed he would've told you before he left," she said. "Uh actually, I'm here to see you." Her face dropped. "Why would you want to see me? Did I leave another mess at your house? I'm so sorry, I can go clean it up right now." She started rambling on and on. "Betty!" She looked at him surprised he used her real name. She always had a crush on her boss, she thought he was handsome and to hear her name roll off his lips so perfectly, she was in heaven. "I came to give you these," he said, holding up the items he bought. "I wanted to apologise for how I treated you. I realized how dumb I was and if I was in your position I would've left to work for my dad as well because I was a horrible boss and you were the best employee I've ever had." He looked at her, seeing her eyes gloss over. She stepped forward and gave him a tight hug. He froze for a second, not because he didn't like the hug it was because he couldn't understand after everything he put this girl through, how she could still be nice to him. He hugged her back and inhaled her heavenly scent as she was doing the same. "Thank you," she whispered against his chest. It sent shivers down his spine. "Oh, I, uh... You deserve these after what I did to you." She pulled away from the hug and they both immediately missed the warmth of each other. He handed her the items and said, "Well I have to be back at work in a few minutes but I'll see you soon?" She nodded. "Until next time," she said. They both chuckled a bit. He got in his car and drove away. Betty walked into the house with the goofiest smile on her face. It was just a hug but it was the most physical contact they ever shared. She took her stuff and brought it up to her room. She opened the card and a bunch of money fell out.
Dear Betty,
I realize I treated you very poorly but I would like to make it up to you so I gave you your last paycheck from me. It's not a lot but it's all I had at the moment. $1000. Buy yourself something nice, you deserve the world from how much you endure each day and still manage to keep a bright, cheery smile.
