FP had packed most of Betty's things besides her clothes when she woke up. She sat up on the bed, confused where she was because the last place she remembered being is the hospital. The doctors said that memory loss might be a result of her concussion and it's normal. She slowly got out of her bed and walked out into her kitchen where FP was wrapping her dishes in newspaper. He must have heard her padding along the floor because be turned around. "Morning Betty! Did you sleep well?" She squinted her eyes. "Uh, not really. I'm saving up for a new mattress. Mine's old and worn. What'cha doing with my dishes? How do you know where I live? Why are you in my house?" FP chuckled. "You're moving in with me remember?" "Obviously not," she laughed slightly. "I left your clothes unpacked because I figured you would want to pack them so there are a couple boxes set up in your room." FP smiled. "Thank you." Betty walked back to her room and started packing her things.
Once she had all the boxes packed, labeled, and sealed she walked out of her room to see FP bringing boxes out to his truck. There's was only like seven boxes so they didn't need a moving truck. He put a box in and turned around. "Oh hey Betty!" He chirped. "I finished packing, do you want me to bring the boxes out?" "No, you get in the truck and relax. I saw you had a lot of books which I assumed you liked to read so I put a box of books in the front of the car for you to read while you wait. There's some snacks in the glove compartment and a charger in case your phone dies," FP explained. "Oh, I don't have a phone," Betty said looking down. "Oh well I'll have to buy you one in a couple days." "No, no. I can't ask you to do that!" FP sighed. "Betty... My son mistreated you and it's my responsibility to make sure you have all the necessities. How do you contact your friends?" Betty's eyes began to water. "I don't have any friends. I was always alone in highschool and I was always working as an adult so I didn't have time to make friends," Betty explained. "What about family?" FP asked. "They all left me when I was little. My parents hated me so they took my brother and sister and left. I stayed with my grandma until I was 15, then she passed away and I've lived here, by myself ever since." A few tears escaped her eyes. She's never told anyone anything about this because she hasn't had anyone to tell. FP embraced her in a hug. "I'm sorry Betty," FP said sympathetically. "It's fine. I've made it this far in life alone." FP let Betty out of the hug. "Well I have an extra laptop back at my house so until your off bed rest, you can use that!" Betty couldn't understand why this man was being so nice to her. "Okay so you get in the truck and I'll finished loading all your stuff!" FP exclaimed. "Thank you. This means a lot to me." "Anything for you Betty." Betty smiled and climbed into the truck. She opened the box of books and pulled out Romeo and Juliet. It was her comfort book. Whenever she was doing something big, like moving, her anxiety would spike up so she would read the book and get lost in her fantasy world of the book.
A few minutes later, FP hopped into the truck. "Okay, you're all packed!" He said, happily. "Thank you, FP. I can't tell you how much this means to me," Betty said, closing her book. "Betty, I'm serious. Of course I'd do this for you. We're roommates now." Betty giggled. "Alright, let's head out. I'll call you're landlord in the morning, telling him you moved out. And after you are all better you can start working." Betty couldn't stop smiling. She might finally have a family.
When they made it to FP's mansion, Betty got out of the truck and grabbed the box in front of her. "Betty, Betty. You need to rest. Follow me to you're room. It's on the second floor so you will not be on the main floor too much but as soon as you're up and healthy, you can explore it all you want!" "Thanks." FP grabbed two boxes from the back of the truck and showed Betty upstairs. She looked around, admiring the room. It was probably bigger then her entire apartment. "Wow..." She placed the box in front of the huge bookcase already in the room. She went over to the bed and sat down. It was so much nicer then her mattress and she could tell she was going to sleep so much better now. She ran her hand along the comforter. It was so soft. It reminded her of the blanket her mother made her when she was younger. Tears welled up in her eyes but she quickly blinked them away. She fell back onto the pillow. She could easily fall asleep right now but she knew she had to unpack all her stuff. She felt her eyelids become heavy, to the point where she couldn't keep them open. She laid down on her side feeling comfortable in the simplest positions. She let sleep take over her.
When she woke up, she registered two things. One, she it was now dark outside and two, all the boxes were now in her room. She got out of her bed and walked down the stairs. There was no kitchen on the second floor and she needed water. She walked into the kitchen and saw FP. "Hey, FP," she said happily. She walked farther into the kitchen and stopped short in her tracks. "Oh, erm, hey Mr. Jones," she said, looking down. "Hey Betty." He scratched the back of his neck awkwardly. "I just came to get a drink but I can come back down later." She turned around. "No, I just came to drop off your apron. I figured you want it since you spent so much time decorating it." She turned back around and he was holding the apron. "Uh, thanks," she said, grabbing the apron and hurrying back up the stairs. She went back to her room and changed into her pajamas, crawling into her comfy bed. Even though she had just woken up, she felt as though she could sleep another twelve hours. Her exhaustion was probably finally catching up to her. She closed her eyes and was asleep in a matter of seconds.I know this is kinda boring but I'm borrowing my friends laptop and he needs it back so I will make a part 3 to finish this series soon. <3
