sarah's pov

my older sister was getting married in three days in miami. everyone was gonna be there. and i mean everyone. even the hughes family.

jack was flying in tonight. and he was staying at our beach house.

i was so excited.

after 10 years i would be reunited with my best friend.

TIME SKIP

"sarah will you pick jack and his family up from the airport?" asked my mom. "yeah, when do i need to pick them up?" i asked. "in about 5 minutes" she said.

crap.

i ran upstairs and changed into my black nike running shorts and a trinity college crewneck. sick.

i rushed to my white 2016 ford f-150. the airport was 45 minutes away. i turned on the radio only to find that it was playing my favorite song, feels like summer by childish gambino.

the song fit perfectly as i was driving on the coast of miami as the sun was setting. so aesthetic.

45 minutes later i arrived at the airport. they were all ready waiting next to the curb. i got out of the truck.

jack recognized me. "sarah?!" "jack?!"

we stood there on the curb hugging for what seemed like forever.

"i missed you so much!" i exclaimed.

"me too."

i walked over to the rest of his family.

"hi mrs. hughes" i said as i gave her a big hug. "mr hughes" i also gave him a hug.

"quinn!" i gave him a really big hug.

"luke you've gotten so big!" luke was only 15 but he was way taller than me.

we all smiled and i helped them put their stuff in the back of my truck. we all piled in the back with jack in the front with me and the rest of his family in the back.

"so sarah how was this years cross country season?" asked mrs. hughes.

"it was so amazing! but im really sad cause it was my last season with my school." i responded.

we spent the next 45 minutes catching up. i learned that jack could invite a guest to the draft party in new york. i also learned that he was finished with long-distance running.

when we arrived home i showed jack his bedroom. i started to leave so he could unpack. "wait sarah, "

"yeah, "

"maybe we could talk for a bit, i mean we havent seen each other in years."

i smiled. "of course!"

i sat on his bed and we talked. about everything.
