After the first day of classes, Grace had ran into the caretaker Mr. Filch three times, got lost twice, fell down a staircase, and gone into five wrong classrooms. Grace stayed with Harry and Ron most of the day, getting to know the both of them better, and they made just as many mistakes.
It seemed as though Peeves treated Harry and Ron like all the other students; he pestered them. He seemed to actually like Grace though. Well, not exactly like her, but he didnt pester her.
All the other students however, continued to whisper and stare at Grace and Harry, and Grace found herself wondering when the whispers would end.
All the teachers were completely diffrent. The History of Magic teacher was a ghost who fell asleep in front of a fire and died, yet he continued to teach, and everyone found him incredibly boring. All they did was scribble down notes while he continued to talk in a monotonus voice.
Professor Flitwick was like all the students. He sneaked peaks at Grace and Harry whenever he thought they werent watching, and whenever they raised their hand or asked a question, he would let out an excited squeak.
Grace loved transfiguration, and out of all the classes, it might have been her favorite. She loved that you could change things into something else, kind of like she could change herself. But she was very careful not to reveal any of her powers around anyone.
After they had copied down a bunch of notes, everyone was given matches and they had to transform it into a needle. Grace was the first to suceed, and had done it on her second try. It had amazed everyone, exspecially Grace. It had made Hermione stunned at first, exspecially since Grace hadn't read anything about it. But then only a few seconds later Hermione changed hers. Hermione's hadn't comletely changed, but it had gone silver and pointy. Professor McGonagall flashed a smile at the two girls.
"How did you change yours completely!?" Hermione grinned giving Grace a high five.
"Honestly, I dont know!" Grace giggled.
"Well she was impressed." Hermione grinned.
"You did really well too!" Grace told her.
"Yea, but not as good as you!"
"So? Im sure theres going to be things ur great at that Im not."
"Yea, your probably right."
"You did great!" Parvati and Lavender exclaimed, reaching across Hermione to look at Grace. Grace thanked them and they went back to trying to change theirs.
"It's not fair." Ron muttered crossing his arms, but with a little smile on his face.
"Oh stop it!" Grace laughed, reaching across Harry to swat his arm.
Ron grinned leaning back in his seat. Harry patted Grace's back, whispering a 'good job' since McGonagall had started talking again. Grace twisted her ring around her finger, blushing from all the stares she kept getting.
When Professor McGonagall dismissed the class, she asked for Grace to stay back for a minute. Harry, Ron and Hermione said they'd wait for her outside the door.
Once they left, with a swish of her wand Professor McGonagall locked the door and made it sound proof.
"Mrs. Potter, I was pleasantly surprised with your magic today." Professor McGonagall smiled down at Grace.
"Thank you Professor." Grace blushed.
"Now, I'm assuming that Professor Dumbledore told you about....well our little trip tonight?" Grace nodded. "Wonderful. Now, plans have changed slightly. After your last class, you will come back here to my room, and we will go shopping. We will arrive back here in time for dinner, and then go to the meeting with Professor Dumbledore. Is that allright with you?"
"Yes Professor."
Professor McGonagall smiled and scribbled on a note. "Here is a note for you and your three friends out there. Im assuming they stayed, and you will need a note since you are alittle late."
She handed the note to a smiling Grace. Grace took the note and grabbed her things. "Thank you Professor!"
And with that Grace skipped off to her next class.
----------------------
Grace walked straight from her Potions class to McGonagall's class. She sighed a deep sigh, before lifting up her falling books, once again. Her Potions teacher, seemed to have it out for her and Harry.
Harry had been writing down notes about what Snape was saying, which in Graces opinion was really smart, and then their teacher said that they probably wouldnt be able to be bothered to lift up on of their 'famous fingers' to do some work! Then he got all up in Harry's face pesterign him with questions that Grace could garauntee no one except Hermione knew yet.
Then, as class went on, Grace asked Hermione a question, just a simple one about the lesson, and Snape yelled at Grace to stop chatting and to focus on the lesson. Hermione mouthed a 'sorry' and Grace had just shrugged. It wasnt her fault.
Grace looked up only to realize she was at Professor McGonagalls door. She knocked twice on it, and Professor McGonagall said "Come In!".
Grace walked up to Professor McGonagall. "Where should I put my books?"
"Just leave them here." Professor McGonagall said tapping on her table. "Do you have your money?"
Grace nodded before pulling out the black pouch that she was using to keep her money in. At lunch, when she had dropped off her books, she had grabbed her money and put it inside her cloak.
Professor McGonagall smiled warmly, and then motioned for Grace to go over to her fireplace with her.
"Okay, so when I put this Floo Powder in the fireplace, i want you to yell as clearly as you can, 'Diagon Alley', okay?" Grace nodded and Professor McGonagall threw in a small handfull of Floo Powder.
Grace stepped in, and yelled "Diagon Alley" through all the smoke. She spun and spun and spun and spun in the air, untill she landed on flat ground.
