Part 10

Hiya guys! So one of you lovely readers out there had recently asked a question:

"So I am the type of person that burns easily, could you go over how sunscreen is applied in basic?"

Ah yes, how could I forget to address the pasty people (no offense I'm just kidding!!) and while I am at it, I'll address the tiny people as well, the short females and the females who can't seem to put on weight or lose weight.

So in basic training, you don't have to worry about getting burned. Your senior drill instructor is very much aware of the pasty ones that turn into tomatoes easily in the sun. If you spend a long amount of time outside, your senior drill instructor will always bring two things- sunscreen and bug spray. On Parris island it gets very hot durning the summer and there are a lot of bugs that bother you throughout the day as you train outdoors. It's kind of pointless getting bug spray because you'll most likely sweat everything off but its worth a shot. You'll have at least 10s to put on sunscreen if it is ever offered to you. You can also buy your own bug repellant and sunscreen when you get your chance to go to the MCX. (The store.) which you'll only take two trips to the MCX during your three months at basic.

And for the females who lose weight easily, do not fret. Females will be weighed every other week, and the females who lose weight easily will be put on more rations. For the females who need to lose weight, you will be told to eat less, diet, and if your drill instructors catch you eating a cookie or anything that shouldn't be in your diet, THEY WILL SLAY YOU. They will make sure you never made that choice. They'll make sure you'll never eat another cookie again. They will HAZE you until you cry. And then KEEP hazing you AS you cry. (Hazing is just a term used for physically intense training). You will lose your soul I promise you that. DON'T DO IT.

And short females, it's okay. I'm short too and I made it. Just apply yourself to the best of your ability. Doing the obstacle courses and getting over walls IS NOT IMPOSSIBLE. All courses are doable I swear. Just make sure you got them hops and a good grip and you'll be good haha. There was only one thing I never did and that was get over a wall, but to be fair that wall was like three or four feet taller than me but every other wall or obstacle course I could do. That darn wall....

And ladies and gentlemen, that is all I have for today. Please keep asking questions! There's so much more information I'm not putting into this book.
