Part 12

My daily routine:

You always have to wake up at a certain time. In the fleet, I wake up at 0600 every morning but in the school house things could be different. For me I woke up at 0600 or 0630 sometimes. You were actually supposed to wake up at 0500 to clean your rooms every morning for inspection every morning. Which I clearly never did like fuck that, I clean after the day is over.

So things you should always be doing as a marine:

-Make sure your hair is slicked back and in a bun.

-Make sure your rolled sleeves look nice. Most marines aren't very good at rolling sleeves so they walk around with busted ones. Don't do that. As a marine you're always supposed to look presentable at all times. Plus it's not that hard to find someone who's good at rolling sleeves and get them to roll them for you.

-make sure your cover is nice. Doesn't have to be but remember, look presentable at all times.

-wear a green skivy shirt underneath (it's preferable because every mos is different. Remember that. If you're not a grunt, wear a green shirt underneath. Grunts get away with a lot of things)

-make sure your chevrons are measured correctly on the collar

-wear a watch, it's convenient. Very good to have one.

-wear brown socks (I wear green honestly I don't care. You don't get in trouble for wearing green socks but remember it all depends who is in charge of your shop too)

-wear shorts underneath your trousers just in case

-always carry your military id on you and your room key. You have no idea how often marines actually forget those two things

- always have a water source on you

- I carry a back pack, not every one does. But I like to put personal things in there like pads, tampons, medicine, an extra pair of clothes just in case, your work binder, anything you may need

-make sure your room is always clean. Make sure your blankets are folded and bed is made. Also, make sure your wall lockers (closets) are locked. All this is to be done before you leave your rooms everyday.

And that is all I have for right now :)
