Part 11
*Update on my life*
So, not much has really happened.
I've been a fleet marine for a month now, finished checking into my unit, got my tier card and went out two weekends ago for the first time.
All I've been doing for the past month that I've been here is learning my job. Yes I'm still in the process Of learning, there's a lot of things your instructors don't teach you at the school house but even in any normal civilian jobs you're always learning something new.
I've recently been recognized for my "office" skills. My gunny told me to do some things with paperwork and I guess he was very pleased with my work so now he wants me to be the only one who does paperwork in the office haha. So I'm going to be slaving away all week with paperwork and it's pretty serious because we have an inspection coming up next week and everything needs to be perfect.
Our Corporal finally got back from leave so we don't have to take the bus anymore she can finally drive us around everyday haha yay.
Things are going well with my boyfriend, and honestly I've never been happier. I don't know if I told you guys but I met him at the school house and things just kind of clicked from the start. I noticed he was different than most dudes. And I know that's something every girl says about their boyfriends but it's true. He's older and with that being said, he knows what he wants in life. He doesn't have time to play games or mess around with girls is what I mean. I finally feel like life is perfect with him. I'm done feeling like there's something missing. And life is great. I have an amazing boyfriend, a good job, a good working environment, I'm going for my license and then trying to go for my college straight after that so life is great.
Over two weekends ago I left with my roommate to try some sushi at some cool sushi restaurant called Hama sushi and it was really weird because there was so much food just rolling around on a conveyor belt and you can literally just pick all the food you'd like off of that conveyor belt and you won't even spend over $20 on everything you eat. And when you order drinks some of them are handed to you by a person or they come in a plate on the belt and a little chime will go off letting you know that the food/Drink you ordered arrived. I also tried dumplings for the first time and was highly disappointed. They were really bland and the filling inside wasn't a texture I fancied. It had no taste to be honest. Just chewy mushy tasting whatever it's made of haha. And then I went to some cool arcades in town and some cat shop where you can feed cats and hang out with them for a while. The arcades down here are UNBELIEVABLE. There's no arcades where I'm from but like America certainly does not have half the amazing games that Japan has in their arcades it's ridiculous. The sad thing I realized is that there's no amusement parks around here where you can ride rollercoasters. I was kinda sad but hey that's okay. At least there's one Ferris wheel located in the strangest place...on top of a building. Weird right.
And then we went through a small storm last week going into the weekend. The weather only decided to be nice Sunday and I was mad haha but that's fine I finally caught up on Lucifer. On season 4 and almost done with it. If y'all haven't seen Lucifer I highly suggest it, such a great show. When I first heard of it I was a bit skeptical of it-sounded super lame i don't know. But then I gave it a chance and I was like "woah where has this been all my life I've been missing out on this".
And then just the other day I got yelled at by a sergeant major for not having chevrons on my gortex (a gortex is basically a rain coat), still a little salty about that like okay? Haha whatever. Don't forget to put chevrons on your gortex people! Not something you really think of doing because it's not everyday you use a fricking gortex but it's whatever.
And yeah that's it, my life is kind of lame and boring.
So next chapter I'll probably post some knowledge about the marine corps.
And I was thinking of writing a book? Maybe? Not sure yet.
