this is an alternative version of one of my old fics of another ship but a lot of things will be different!!
things to keep in mind before reading:
- i don't speak korean (even though i'm trying to learn) and i understand transliterations make a lot of people uncomfortable so if the characters' dialogue is supposed to be in korean then i will mention it
- the story focuses more on family and personal development and romance is only a minor theme but of course, the romance aspect revolves (mainly) around taejin! however the development of their relationship may be slightly slow because i don't want to rush anything. i hope this won't put you guys off from reading this book because there'll still be a good amount of taejin
- this book will include sensitive and triggering content such as alcohol/drug abuse, mental illness (+self-harm), [mentions of] domestic violence, body-shaming, and others. these are serious issues so they won't just be touched on. they'll be explained thoroughly according to my research and knowledge, and i'll put up warnings. a lot of people have told me that the og fic is really intense so please be aware if you decide to read this story
- i'm pursuing a psychology degree but that doesn't mean i know everything about mental illness so if i've stated any facts incorrectly, please don't hesitate to correct me. this goes for every topic/subject
-this story will be set in australia because it's where i live and i'm more familiar with the environment so i don't have to do extra research dfkdjfg
- bts exists in this au but v and jin from bts will have different government names and faces (although their stage names will be the same!), and the members won't appear in this as characters. the same applies to exo (the group exists but baekhyun will have a different face and name as well)
i think that's about it.. i had a debate on whether this should be jinkook or taejin but i went with taejin because i think tae's a better fit for the og character (idk why lol), plus i wanted to have one of the exo members as the brother and tae and baek seemed like the perfect pair so TAEJIN IT IS!!
