A Total Breakdown

Rose let Lewis go to the bathroom and started focusing her attention on Hailee. The teenager was looking off in the distance at a group of girls with their boyfriends. She was nervously chewing on the straw of her drink while clenching her fist tightly. Something was on her mind, and Rose was gonna help her.

"Hailee—is something wrong?" The author asked as she reached across the table to grab her friend's hand. The younger woman looked over and Rose was concerned at the sight of tears brimming in the musician's eyes. Will was paying attention now as he put his drink down. Hailee let out a shaky breath as a tear rolled down her face.

"I... I just can't understand myself. I see that group over there and....I can't make up my damn mind. This is scaring me—more than it should. I'm too fucking confused about my sexuality and I don't know what to do..."

Will gave Rose a small nod and the two adults embraced the teenager in a tight hug. Hailee let herself cry into Will's shoulder while the older man started ruffling her hair softly. She was shaking a lot, which Rose quickly noticed, as she desperately tried to calm her friend down.

"Hailee...please don't cry."

"R-Rose....what do I do? I can't be like this forever—it's driving me crazy."

Will let go of the teen and looked her in the eyes. "Hey, no one said you had to be like this forever. We'll help you, right Rose?" The author nodded and wiped her friend's tears with her thumb. "Hae, it's completely normal to feel this way. A lot of people are going through these emotions. You just gotta figure yourself out first."

Hailee started crying again and buried her face in her hands. Rose has never seen Hailee like this before so she didn't know how to calm her down.

It was then that Lewis returned and after a few minutes of arguing, the group decided to go back to the house.
