As soon as Charlie opens the door, he's immediately met with a wet, slippery, shirtless Will crashing directly into his torso.
"Ah, you guys made it!" he giggles, laughing at Will's attempts to peel himself away. His hair is sticking up in odd angles that had to be done deliberately. "I wasn't sure you guys would make it back!"
"I told you they would," Marshall retorts, standing up from the bed and making his way over to the bathroom closet to get towels.
Will finally manages to pry himself off his friend right as Charlie drops him to go help Marshall stand properly .
Marshall giggles a little when Charlie wraps his arms around him and leans into Charlie's touch so that he's close to his boyfriend's face. There's a slight rasp of few-days-old stubble on the older's face, and he's close enough that Charlie can smell the cologne on his skin. The moonlight through the window catches the copper highlights in his eyelashes, makes his dark eyes look almost honey-colored.
"I love you," Marshall breathes before he even realizes he's saying it.
Charlie blinks, surprised and smiling. "Where did that come from?" he asks.
"I dunno," Marshall shrugs. Charlie keeps staring, and staring, until finally Marshall just blurts, "You're just like. Like, sometimes I look at you and you're just...so lovely and perfect. It just gets to me sometimes."
"Yeah?" Charlie quirks a brow, but he reaches out and laces his fingers with Marshall's. "Gets to you how?" Charlie steps closer, ducking his head to talk right in Marshall's ear, his dark curls brushing Charlie's cheek. "Marshall? You good?"
"Yeah, Char," Marshall nods, getting goosebumps up his neck from the soft timbre of Charlie's voice rumbling right in his ear. "I'm good. Really good. I just...just really freakin' love you, okay? I don't know."
Charlie leans back, regarding him for a long moment in the white light of the early evening. "Yeah. Okay," he says finally, a gentle smile on his waxen face "I know."
Marshall chuckled and opened the closet door. At that moment, Hailee, Lewis, and Rose walk in, completely drenched from the rain. The curly haired male sighed and reached into the closet to grab a few more towels.
"That rain came out of nowhere!" Lewis informed, placing the bag of food onto the table. Charlie noticed that the gamer was wearing Will's flannel, which explained why the blond was shirtless. Will noticed his gaze and instinctively looked at Charlie's clothing. "What's with the sweater, Charlie? It's like 80 degrees in here." The musician asked, raising an eyebrow in confusion. The younger male chuckled nervously and immediately started pulling the collar higher. Hailee noticed this time and walked up to him. "Why are you acting so weird, Char?" she asked.
Rose gasped as she spotted a small red spot peeking out above the fabric. "I--Is that what I think it is?" she squealed, making her way over to the brunette. "Ho-ly shit...that's a hickey!"
Will looked up at the gray fabric that covered the paler male's neck. It was clearer to see when Charlie raised his hands in defense. There were multiple red spots on his skin as well as a dark purple bruise. A quick glance at Marshall confirmed Rose's accusation. The darker male was hiding his face in his hands.
Marshall and Charlie were totally fucked.
