(Kinda short, but whatever 😛)

"I know that Rose said we would drop the situation, but I have to ask: Why did you do it?" Will asked as he sat on the bed next to the teenager, who was drawing Pokemon in her sketchbook. The blonde smiled at the small sketch of him that was drawn on the corner of the girl's page, and wrapped his arm around the violet haired artist. Hailee just tensed up and stopped moving her pencil to look over at the musician, a look of remorse on her face. Her eyes were no longer the hazel green she originally had, but a very subtle gray with a hint of blue. Completely unrecognizable. 

Will took this moment to look over the teen some more, becoming more concerned than he was earlier. Hailee's hair was unkempt and fading in color, which wasn't normal for her because she always kept her hair brushed and vibrant; her frame was thinner than it was when she came down to stay at the couple's house, like she hadn't been eating much at all; and the bags under her eyes were very dark, an obvious sign that she hadn't slept well in days.

"I don't have a purpose here...." 

Will removed his arm from his friend like her skin became a thousand degrees hotter. His heart nearly launched up in his throat as Hailee  started crying again. 

"Hailee, what are you talking about?"

"I-I'm not worth anyone's time, Will. I'm f-fucking irrelevant."

Will opened his mouth to argue, but stopped when he looked down at Hailee's phone screen. She had sent   messages to a few people, all were dated a year ago. None of them had answered her or even read the messages. Some of the names were ones Will recognized from Hailee's school stories she always told.

Thomas, Alex, Chris, Jada, Ezra, Megan, Briar, and Cole.

"Hailee...."
