We arrived at the airport. Our neighbour helped us get out all our bags, then said goodbye to us. I was pretty sure they were happy we were leaving. I picked up my carry on, which was a rainbow tie dye backpack, and slung it over my shoulder. My large black suitcase was standing next to me like a pole. I looked down at it, wishing it was packed for a holiday, and didn't contain a majority of my clothes, shoes, toiletries and of course all my books. (Not the ones I was reading, they were in my carry on.) I pushed down the hard oval button on the handle of my suitcase and pulled it up to extend it. My family and I headed inside the airport. The only good thing about today was that I got to see Yasmine, Elijah and Ben. They were meeting me at the airport, so they didn't have to come so early. As we walk inside, the smell of bleach approached my nose, the shiny, white, marble flooring had recently been cleaned and it smelt horrible. We walked over to a empty set of dark grey leather seats and put down all our stuff. Dad jogged over to the front desk and asked the woman behind it what we had to do and where we had to go. The woman looked like she was in her late 40s and her bun was so slicked back it looked like her fore head was about to rip open. The woman gave my dad a blank stare then explained to him what to do. He came back over and told us to follow him.

By 6:40am we were through security, bag checks and everything. All we had to do now was wait. My family and I sat on the uncomfortable fabric seats near the door of the terminal. I picked up my backpack from the floor and undid the zip. I reached inside and fumbled around looking for my book. Got it!!! I thought excitedly. I pulled it out, set it on my lap, then closed my backpack and put it on the chair next to me. I curled my legs up so that all my body was on the seat. I opened my book and began to read.

It felt like I was reading for hours. I felt a light tap on my shoulder. Looking up from my book I saw that it was Josiah, my youngest brother.

"What's up?" I asked him calmly as I could.

He pointed his small chubby finger towards where we had walked in before. I saw three people walking towards us. A huge grin broke out on my face. I leapt up from my chair and ran straight for them. They were here!!!! They were finally here. I bowled into Elijah and wrapped my arms around his neck, giving him a big hug. I let go and hugged Yasmine and Ben too.

"I told you she would be reading!!" Yasmine said to Ben.

"You know what, here's your $5" he said crossly, shoving it in her face.

I laughed at them, they were always making bets with each other. Ben lost a majority of the time so I don't know why he kept doing it.

"I'm so glad you guys came!!" I said the the three of them.

"I'm so glad you haven't left yet." Elijah said.

"I would never leave without saying goodbye to you!" I said sternly to him.

"No but seriously thank you." I said again.

"It's the least we could do, you know, since your moving and all." Yasmine said sadly.

No, no, don't cry, I told myself, your a strong girl, don't cry I front of Yas. It's just as hard for her as it is for you. The four of us walked over to my family and sat down.

Ben, Elijah, Yasmine and I began talking about all the fun memories and crazy times we had ever had together. We talked and talked. Then Elijah checked the time.

"It's 7:55." I could feel his heart drop along with everyone else's. The 4 of us stood up just as the announcement came over the PA.

"The 8:00am flight to Canada leaves in 5 minutes." A lady's voice said.

I looked at my three best friends. Nope this was it, the tears slowly began to trickle down my cheeks. Yasmine pulled me into a hug, as she began to cry with me. I felt Ben and Elijah wrap their arms around Yas and I. I couldn't do this. I couldn't leave my best friends. The boys let go, but Yas amped I held on a little longer. Mum came over and patted me on he shoulder.

"Come on honey. We have to go, for your father." She said softly. She was right, I was doing this for dad and the family. I gave Ben and Elijah one last hug and looked at them both.

"Look after her, please." I Quietly said to them.

They both nodded. I turned around and looked at Yasmine.

I hugged her again and said "I'm so sorry. I'm going to miss you so much"

"Come on Amy, were boarding now!" Jake yelled.

I grabbed my bags and slowly walked over to join my family. The lady looked at my ticket and passport and let me through. Before I turned into he tunnel, I looked back at my friends and waved to them, my cheeks wet. They waved back and I turned into the tunnel.

That was the last I saw of them.

We got to our seat. I got the window seat and mum was next to me. I put my head on her shoulder and just let the tears flow. She put her arm around me and began rubbing my shoulder for comfort. I slowly drifted off to sleep.
