The rest if the week was a complete blur. I'd met so many people and I couldn't remember half of their names. At lunch I would sit with Shawn and his friends, well I guess they were my friends too, and we would all talk or play 21 questions.
On Friday we were playing 21 questions as usual. Peter was just asked if he would rather eat poo flavoured chocolate or chocolate flavoured poo.
"Chocolate flavoured poo!! Obviously." He said in a sassy voice.
"Ummm.... Amy!!!!"
I looked up at peter, my heart beating faster and faster.
"What's the thing you miss most about Australia?" He asked me. The entire group had their eyes on me, waiting for me to answer. I felt the sadness slip it's way into my heart.
"I.. Ummm..... I guess, everything. My friends, the food, the warm weather, the Australian accents." I said with a light laugh.
"Hahaha." Everyone laughed with me.
I really did miss Australia. I could feel the tears beginning to prickle in my eyes.
"I'm gonna go to the bathroom." I got up from the silver benches we were sitting on and walked onto the oval. I was half way across the oval when I heard so done call out my name.
"Amy!!" I didn't turn around.
"Amy, wait up!!" It was Shawn. I slowed down and let him catch up to me. The tears now screaming at me.
Shawn caught up and put his strong arms around me. I buried my head into his chest as the tears began to silently fall, one by one. Shawn knew that my 'home' was still a fragile topic for me to talk about, so he didn't say anything, we just stood there hugging and me crying, making his shirt a little damp. I looked up at Shawn, not breaking apart the hug. He gave me a small, sorrowful smile and started whipping away the tears off my cheeks with the pad of his warm thumb.
"I know you miss being at home." Shawn said slowly. "But I'm really glad that you moved here." I gave him a puzzled look.
"You'll understand one day." He said quietly.
I nodded in response, not fully understanding what he meant by that.
The bell rang, so we headed off to our next class, Science.
I sat down next to Henry, my lab partner, and opened up my new text book.
"Hey, you okay?" Henry quietly whispered to me.
"Yeah, just Australia's a hard one to talk about." I whispered back in reply.
He quietly moved his stool closer to me and began rubbing my back. It was kind of uncomfortable. I heard a light buzz coming from inside Henry's pocket. He pulled out his phone, I saw that a text from Shawn had caused the buzzing. He still had his hand on my back as he read the text. I looked at it quickly.

Shawn: Don't touch her, she's mine.

Henry removed his hand from my back and turned around to look at Shawn, who was across the isle and one desk behind us. I pretended like I haven't seen the text and looked at Shawn. He glared at Henry, then looked at me and smiled. The heat in my cheeks grew as I smiled back at him. For the rest of the period, all I could think about was that text Shawn had sent Henry. I was still a little confused, about what he had told me at lunch and now I was even more confused.

The final bell rang, signalling the end of the school day. Yes!!! Mum had gotten me a new book the other day, Blood of Olympus. It was from the heroes of Olympus series, I had all of them already, but this was the final book in the series, so me being the giant bookworm I am, was itching to get home and start reading it.

Shawn and I walked to our lockers together, got out anything we needed and went to the bus stop, the whole time we were silent. But it was a comfortable silence. We got off the bus at our stop and began walking home. We turned the corner into my street, I could see my house from here. We crossed the road carefully and walked to the bottom of my driveway. Shawn stopped and looked at me.
"You know what." He said, a grin spreading across his face.
"What?"
"How much of Pickering have you seen since you moved here?"
"Not much, why?" I asked
"Good. Then Tomorrow I'm taking you on a tour of Pickering." He said confidently.
"Okay?"
"Okay."
"I'll text you tonight with the deets." He said whilst clicking his fingers, them pointing them at me.
"Hahaha, okay."
He opened his arms and I gladly accepted.
We said goodbye as I walked up to my front door.

A few hours later I had had a shower, dinner and was already up to chapter 6 of BoO. (Blood of Olympus.) my phone began to ring. I put in my bookmark and picked up my phone. It was Shawn.

"Hey" I said
"Hi!! So tomorrow, I'll come around at 7:30 and make you the Mendes breakfast. Then we will go to some other places around Pickering, have a picnic lunch and then later for dinner we can go to Taco Bell or something. Is that okay with you Amy?" He asked me
" hahaha, sure thing, sounds like a plan."
"Awesome!! Well I'll see you tomorrow then Am's" he said excitedly
"Am's ay?"
"Yeah, is it okay if I call you that?"
"I don't usually like it, but you can be an acceptation."
"Wow. I feel honoured." He said.
"You should be, but you interrupted my reading time!!!" I shouted into the phone.
"Oh sorry!!" I giggled
"Bye Shawn the prawn." I said laughing to myself.
"What's a prawn?" Shawn asked laughing.
"A shrimp."
"Oh right, you and your Australian slang."
"Okay, firstly it's not slang and secondly I have to go, bye Shawn." I said
"Hahaha, Bye Amy!!"
I hung up, put my phone down and continued to read BoO.
