At 6:30 I walked back up to my room to get ready for dinner at the Mendes' house. I began rummaging though my wardrobe, trying to fine a cute outfit to wear. I finally decided on a pair of light was boyfriend jeans, a baseball style batman shirt, some bright blue socks with bananas on them and my black and white converse. I looked at the clock, we still had 45 minutes till we had to leave.
May as well finish my book.
"Amy!!! Were leaving!!!" Mum yelled from the front door.
I finished the very last page of the book, grabbed my mustard coloured coat and my phone and ran downstairs. The rest of my family were waiting in the driveway for mum to lock the door. Joshua ran down to the curb and turned the corner of our street. It was a 3 minute walk from our place to Shawn's. We walked up the Mendes' driveway and to the front door.
'Ding Dong!' Screamed the doorbell.
The door had a few windows on it and I saw Aaliyah running towards the door.
'Bang'
I giggled. Poor Aaliyah, she had run into the door. She quickly recovered and opened the door for us.
"Hi!!" She said excitedly.
Jake walked in and imminently Aaliyah and he were racing to where I assumed the TV was. Karen came to the door a few moments later and invited us in. We walked inside and I was astounded as to how clean their house was compared to ours. Karen showed us to the lounge room, Joshua and Josiah went to go find Jake and Aaliyah. My parents and I sat down on the lounge. Mum and Karen started to talk about everything. I was about to pull out my phone, when Shawn came into the room.
"Hey!!" He said excitedly.
"Hi!!" I replied.
We walked out of the lounge room and to Shawn's room. When we got inside his room we turned to each other and said hi again, but this time we gave each other a hug.
"Long time no see!!" I said
"Yeah it's been a while" he replied.
We both laughed, then sat down on his bed. My phone in my back pocket kept buzzing and so did Shawn's. I took out my phone and saw that every few seconds a new person was either following me or commenting on a Instagram picture I had posted. I looked up at Shawn, and showed him my lock screen. He showed me his, all if could see was tweets and comments about me and him. This was overwhelming. I unlocked my phone and opened up Instagram. As soon as it loaded I went to my notifications. There were 1045 new notifications!!!! I then went to my profile and saw I had almost 1000 followers!!!
"This is crazy!!!" I said to Shawn.
I showed him all the notifications.
"They really love you Amy!!" He said
"Do you have twitter?" He asked me
I nodded.
"You might want to see what's trending" he said
I did just as he had told me to. My jaw dropped. I looked back to Shawn and he just nodded.
"I can't believe they already made us a ship name." I said.
"Yeah!!! This is crazy!!! " he said.
"Dinner!!!" Karen yelled.
We both got up and put our phones on Shawn's bed and went to the dining room.
All throughout dinner all I could think about was #Shamy (their ship name). Shawn was sitting across from me, I could tell he was thinking the exact same thing. The only thing that got my mind off it was the delicious looking cheesecake that Karen had just brought out of the kitchen. Mmmmm cheesecake!!! It's so good!!! French vanilla!!
After dinner we stayed a little longer. Shawn and I continued to gawk over #Shamy. We had returned to his room after dinner and were going though all my social media. Some how they had found me on everything!!!! As the minutes ticked past the amount of my followers continued to climb.
"DO IT FOR THE VINE!!!" Shawn yelled
"I AINT GONNA DO IT!!!" I screamed back
"DO IT FOR THE VINE!!!" He screamed again
"I AINT GONNA DO IT!!!" I yelled back
"DO IT FOR THE VINE!!!" Shawn shouted again.
I got up off his bed and began to dance like a crazy person. Shawn began to laugh. After a while I joined in.
'Knock, knock'
Karen opened the door, "Amy sweetie, your family is going home now." She said sweetly.
"Okay, thank you." I said
Shawn got up from his bed and gave me a massive bear hug. I hugged him back.
"See you tomorrow" I mumbled into his shoulder.
"Can't wait!!" He said
We walked out the front door and I waved goodbye to Shawn, he waved back and smiled.
I must say I had a hard time falling asleep. I finally felt like I had made a really great friend, here in Canada.
