5. The neighbours had come to say hello

I woke up the next morning at 1:00pm. The time difference between Australia and Canada had confused me so much and my body was feeling it too. I went over to my wardrobe, picked out a pair of grey sweat pants, a black long sleeve and my red Magcon hoodie. I walked out of my room and down the hallway, towards the bathroom. I turned on the shower and set my clean clothes on the bench. The warm water was refreshing against my skin. I washed my hair, body and rinsed off, before hopping out of the shower. I dried myself and got into the clean clothes I had picked out earlier. Back in my room I picked out a pair of watermelon socks and put them onto my feet, went down stairs and had some cereal for breakfast. I returned to my room, made my bed, grabbed my book (that I had almost finished) and snuggled up on my bed to read.

Half an hour later, I heard a faint knock on the front door, but just assumed it was the postman. A few minutes later I heard mum yelling from downstairs.

"Amy!!! Come downstairs please!!!" Mum yelled.

I quickly finished the page I was on, put in my book mark and went out into the hallway. I got to the top of the stairs and saw mum standing at the front door talking to some people I had never seen before. The neighbours. I thought to myself, as I walked down the stairs.

"Amy, these are our neighbours from over the back fence." Mum told me.

I looked at the four people standing on our door mat. A young girl that looked to be around Jake's age, a woman with brown hair, I presumed was the mother, a tall man, who was the father and standing next to all of them a familiar looking boy, with brown hair.

"Hi." I said with a kind smile on my face.

"Amy this is Aaliyah, Karen, (I don't know his dad's name, but insert it here.) and Shawn."

The name shawn sounded familiar, I couldn't work out why.

"It's nice to meet you guys." I said.

Aaliyah and her parents looked at My hoodie, then to Shawn, who had a smirk on his face. It was then that I realised, I had seen Shawn before and I knew exactly who he was. He just so happened to be my iPad and phone wallpaper. This family standing I front of me was the Mendes family.

I looked down at my hoodie and back to Shawn.

"Oh my gosh." I Muttered to myself.

I began to awkwardly point back to the stairs

"I'm gonna............ Yep." I turned around slowly, like I was trying not to startle a baby deer, swiftly walked back up the stairs and into my room, shutting the door behind me. I started to walk in circles around my room, then just sat in the middle of my floor with my head buried in my hands.
