Queen Merida

Chapter Ten

"Happy Mor'du day!" rapunzel screamed at the peaceful sleeping Merida. Merida yelped and toppled over then fell on the floor, she held her head and gave Rapunzel a hard look.

"Sorry"
"Rapunzel ah made it clear that ye shouldn't do that anymore"
"I said sorry and I also said happy Mor'du day"
"That's taday?! Ugh, ah hate Mor'du day"
"Why?"
"Mi brothers always get mi in ta trouble"
"Well not anymore, they should be reasonable by now"
"Not them, help mi up please"

She brought out her hand and helped her up, her hair messier than ever, rapunzel giggled.

"What?" Merida asked
"Your hair, it's so messy"
"Let mi just go freshen up" Merida sighed and entered the bathroom, just then her brothers ran in. Rapunzel stopped them.

"Halt! What are you boys doing here?"
"It's Mor'du day, mom said the 'queen' is needed to open the ceremony" Harris said, saying the word queen with sarcasm

"Thank you boys for the message and also I don't want you three to cause your sister any trouble"

"There's no way we can do so, it's a tradition" Hamish said and the other two nodded, Rapunzel just sighed.

"Let's leave the room for your sister shall we"

"Good morning princess"

"Hello there Wendy, happy Mor'du day"

"Thanks but I'm still new to your whole..."
"Ah understand, ta day is a special day for Dunbroch we celebrate the day Mi mom killed the demon bear Mor'du"

"Mor...who?"

"Come on... Let me tell ye the story"

Later---

"So that is exactly what happened, ah was there"
"Your mother is so brave"
"Ah know, ta day the lords are coming ta celebrate with us. Ta be honest, I'm pumped, ah have a good feeling about ta day....where's Peter and tink?"

"Peter's showing my brothers around and tink....well, I actually don't know here she is"

"Fair enough" Merida said and she saw three men that she recognized, she had a wide smile on her face and stomped towards them then courtesied.

"Welcome mi lords, happy Mor'du day"

"Happy Mor'du day my queen, I can see you are quite grown up" Pierre Macintosh said and the others agreed

"Right this way Mi lords, mi father has been waiting do ye" she said and led them towards the castle through the decorators and maids and everyone else preparing the field for the ceremony. They opened the cable door and saw Elinor talking to Fergus, they turned and smiled at the lords.

"Welcome all" Fergus said

"Thank you Fergus, you haven't changed since the last four years" Ethan Dingwall said
"Well, I have but you just don't see it" he said and winked, the lords laughed but Elinor and Merida were confused.

"It's a man's thing" Fergus whispers to them and they rolled their eyes.

"You don't mind if we start the ceremony do you Fergus? Ole Pierre's got a lot on his hands"

"Why not, I'll inform the arrangers" he said and soon all eyes were at the door as they heard a scream coming from outside.

"What's happening fergus" Elinor asked with fear on her face. He didn't answer but gave her a hand that said she should wait here and he slowly approached the door, when he opened it, his eyes widened with terror. There was chaos and... Dragons!

"Elinor! Merida! Run as fast as you can and the lords come with me!" he ordered and grabbed a nearby spear and charged outside, so did the lords,  all giving battle cries. Merida led her mom upstairs and made for the door.
"And where do you think you're going young lady?"

"Mom, ah have ta help!"
"You heard your father"
"ah didn't hear him! All ah heard was mi head telling Mi that ah have to go fight, ah promised ye victory mother and it's what we will get. Stay here while ah go find Mi brothers and rapunzel" she said and looked the door then ran to her room to grab her bow and quiver then ran outside.

The place was full of dragons and fire and people fighting, she looked around and saw rapunzel with only two of her brothers, she saw someone charging towards them. Merida frowned, quickly grabbed an arrow and shot towards the person and he fell down. She ran towards them.

"Go get out of here! Where's Hubert!"
"we don't know" Harris said with fear in his voice
"How can ye not know, aren't ye three always ta'gether?! Ugh, go just go" she said and they did, Rapunzel looked at Merida.

"I change my mind mer don't do..."
"There's no stopping mi now Rapunzel, go search for Hubert, ah'll be fine" she said, Rapunzel nodded.

Somewhere in the kitchen---

"Hubert,Hubert" Rapunzel whispered and sighed "Maybe he's not here"

"Rapunzel" she heard him behind her, she turned and saw him being held by a man in a dragon armour suit. He held Hubert hostage by the throat with a sword.

"Who are you? Leave him alone!" Rapunzel ordered, he smirked.

"Oh I will, first I wanna know where the queen is"

Rapunzel gasped, she couldn't call either Merida or Elinor's name or tell him their whereabouts mostly because she didn't know.

"I don't know" she said fixing her eyes on his
"You better tell me because if you must know.... My sword can bring out fire and you know the outcome of that" he said pushing the sword closer to Hubert's neck, the poor boy started crying. Rapunzel didn't know what to do, he was insistent but she actually didn't know where either of them  were.

"Leave them alone" a voice was heard and hiccup looked behind him, still holding Hubert hostage, Rapunzel smiled

"Merida" she mumbles happily, she had a warrior's look on her face and part of her dress was torn with some dried blood on her leg and face, she was limping a bit but had placed her arrow on her bow and it was facing him.

"Leave the boy alone" she repeated, he smirked.
"Stay away, I'm after the queen, he lives if I know where she is"

Merida scoffed "Yer looking at her"
Hiccup had his eyes widened and realized something, he let Hubert go slowly and the boy ran to rapunzel's arms. Rapunzel looked at Merida and sighed then ran out with him. Merida and hiccup moved around each other, neither losing focus, she wanted to be captured but also wanted to put up a fight.

She shot and arrow at him and he quickly retaliated and broke it with his sword, he pushed something on the sword and it had flames around it, Merida gasped but frowned and charged towards him, she kicked him down and shot his shoulder. Hiccup screamed and punched her away from him, he stood up and so did she with blood on her nose, she screamed and ran towards him again, using her empty quiver to cover his face, he was distracted and she grabbed his sword and kicked him hard against the door and it broke, soon they were outside.

Hiccup removed the quiver from his face, he was really angry now. He whistled and soon toothless came flying towards him and he landed in front of Merida, his eyes were murderous, if looks could kill, Merida would have been dead by now.  She held the sword with determination to fight it but it edged closer and stopped. Merida was confused now, it brought its tongue out like a dog and panted, hopping around her playfully.

"Toothless what are you doing?" hiccup whispered, also confused,  Merida then remembered,  it Was The dragon she saved... But why would it disobey it's rider. She smirked either way and charged towards hiccup but was shot at the back. She screamed and fell down.

"Thank you astrid" she heard hiccup say, she was losing blood and she felt it, her consciousness slowly going away as her eyelids were involuntarily closing.

"Tie her up and take her away" Was The last thing she heard before passing out completely.
