Queen Merida

Chapter Twenty-Two

Merida looked at everyone, she had changed to her green dress, long sleeves and a slight slit at the side. Her green tiara that she hardly wore as a princess, made her mother puzzled as to why she wore it today. She walked round the table, silence filled the room. Everyone she knew was present there.

Jack, rapunzel, her mother, her father, Maudie, her brothers, Peter, Wendy, Tinkerbell, the lords and others. Merida stopped in front of all of them, then beckoned on rapunzel, she nervously went forward and gave Merida the book. Everyone came forward and looked at the book.

"So, the dragons only answer ta the alpha dragon's call and here is an ancient spell that can help us do that" she said pointing to a set of words, they all tried to say it at once and merida frowned and rested her cheek on her hand and blew away a curl from her face.

She got frustrated when they wouldn't stop. "Shut it!" She said and they all stopped, she looked at it and frowned the sighed and closed her eyes and said it slowly.

"Chief! Chief!"

Hiccup looked back at who was calling him, Fish legs was running...that's the fastest he's seen him run. Hiccup snickered, Fish legs frowned.

"It's not funny" he said and panted.
"Sorry...so what is it?"
"The dragons"
Hiccup raised and eyebrow "What about them"
"They...they are acting strange and going towards somewhere or answering some call...we and the others held them back but whatever it is...it's strong"

Hiccup widened his eyes then thought about toothless and ran outside with Fish legs tiredly following him. He looked outside and saw the dragons roaring because they were held in chains with struggling villagers trying to hold them back, he saw Astrid and ran to her.

"Astrid...why is this happening?"
She looked at him and sighed, she hadn't talk to him in days but had to answer him cause she too was concerned.

"I don't know but o think it's the alpha dragon call because they haven't behaved like this before"

He looked at the dragons and saw toothless then ran to him. He looked at his eyes, they were very cat like now and scary, he was struggling to leave the chains that bound him. Hiccup held his head.

"Chief, leave him, it's dangerous!" Someone called out but he just looked at toothless.

"Toothless? Why? Why are you like this?"

Toothless growled at him, hiccup frowned "Toothless, snap out of this!" He commanded and soon the night fury did, he shook his head and looked at him, Hiccup was puzzled but relieved.

Everyone stood in amazement, Peter flew over to the book and widened his eyes. "She said it right"

"Well did et work?" One of the lords asked, they looked at each other.

"Ah'm not sure but ah'm certain it had some kind of effect" merida said and closed her eyes then said it again.

Toothless' eyes became cat like and scary again, he struggled harder this time roaring with the other dragons as well, Hiccup for once became very worried and scared. He tried speaking to toothless again.

"Toothless stop this! Who is calling you?!" He screamed at him but toothless growled at him and just struggled. Hiccup frowned and ran towards the villagers that were pulling the chains.

"Keep pulling, I'll be right back" he said and they continued, he ran to his father's room, he looked at the book shelf and started searching for books, he frantically searched and even started scattering books.

"Where are....aha!" He exclaimed and took the book outside, running while searching for the page, he tripped on a stone and injured his elbow. Hiccup hissed in pain and stood up limping towards the raging dragons. He spoke some words he read from a page in the book and soon they all fell down, unconscious.

The villagers who pulled the chains were puzzles and looked at their chief, hiccup had a face of relief.

"Its okay everyone, I said a spell that knocked them out but it should be fine now, take them back and remove the chains" he commanded and they all got to work. Astrid and Fish legs approached him.

"Where did you get the book from?" Astrid asked
"Better still,how did you know the spell? Or if it was going to work?" Fish legs asked and hiccup touched his shoulder.

"It's a long story but let's be glad that it worked" he said and they went to help the other dragons. Hiccup frowned, he didn't want to assume things but for some reason,he had a feeling that the Scotts were behind what just happened.

"Merida...why are you doing this?" He whispered to himself.

"Alright everyone, we will attack ta'morrow because there's not much time left. Ah will lead the army with mah dad and mom, ye should be with peter, Wendy, rapunzel and the boys and do as much damage as ye can but stay out of harm's way. The lords of course will be part of the army that will be led by mi. Every other person should just stay here and stay safe, we will have guards that will stay back and protect them, remember, ta'morrow at dawn. Any questions?"

Ethan stepped forward "My queen, and what will our battle plan be, we can't just all go and start attacking right?"

Everyone murmured in agreement, she sighed. "Yes mah lord, ye are absolutely right. Here's what will happen, the army will go up front and attack, the lords will lead there army as well from another side of Berk and lure the dragons out to the centre battle field that they have and...."

"Wait, how did you know that they have a center battle field?" Pierre asked, merida bit her lip, apparently, the lords didn't know she had gone there.

"Well Pierre, yer queen is talking yer asking questions when not told so?" Fergus said and he apologized, Merida smiled and whispered thanks.

"Anyways,when ye lure them there, ah will be standing on time just ta say the spell and control them, that's our plan"

Everyone nodded in agreement, merida smiled then frowned "Hiccup" she whispered "ah'm sorry"
