Chapter Eighteen

"Lesson today will be different" Ruffnut said to Merida, pacing the room. Merida rolled her eyes.

"That's what ye say every other day...how is it going ta be different?"
"Because today, we will learn about the dragon's weaknesses and strengths as well as test them"

Merida's face lit up "Really?"
"You seem excited"
"Well...yes...it's just...ah...ah've always wanted ta learn this"
"Great, makes my job easier so I wouldn't skip lunch" she said and rolled her eyes... "So let's start with....which dragon do you want to learn about?"

"All of them" merida said hastily, Ruffnut furrowed her eyebrows, merida smiled "Ah mean...instead of teaching mi one by one, ye could just teach me their major weakness... And strengths" she said slowly hoping she didn't sound too suspicious.

"Sure..let's begin then...so, most dragon's strengths is in their flight and super strong sensitivity... They re able to detect danger easily and take flight as fast as they sense it"

Merida took serious notes "Okay" she smiled

"And they have an ability, which is to breathe fire...another strength especially for a night fury is the ability to lead and make a shield, they are also super loyal but they can make friends...got all that?"

"Of course" merida responded

"Now on to the weaknesses...now, I won't call this a weakness more like they can't help it but dragons have no choice to follow the call of an alpha dragon"

"Alpha dragon?"
"Yep...legend has it that there is an alpha dragon who is like the father of all dragons, his call can hypnotise all dragons to do his bidding but no one actually knows where he is or who owns him"

"Wow"

"But there is also a spell which is kind of like an alpha's call"
"Oh really?" Merida smiled "Any other weakness?"

"Sure...."

Time skip------

"Thanks Ruffnut" merida said and closed her room door, she quickly brought out a paper and pen then started writing.

Dear rapunzel, I finally did it, I found out the dragon's greatest weakness, so it's with all gladness that I say I would be returning soon...after weeks of learning a lot about them and even gained the trust of most of them....but I'll need you to do something for me...I will need you to find any ancient book about dragons. From merida thanks so much.

Merida sealed it and sneaked out to send it, on her way back, she passed the royal hall and heard two people arguing. She looked inside, it was Valka and Stoick.

"I don't think he's doing the wrong thing Stoick"

"What would you know Valka...I've trained him so much"
"You can't say that Stoick, I am the one that brought up the idea to consider living with the dragons all you did was kill them!"

"Hiccup is just like you... So stubborn but unfortunately he only listens to you so talk some sense into that son of yours and get that princess away from here!"
"Have some faith in your son Stoick since when did you start acting like this?!"

Valka slapped him and walked away, merida gasped and hid as she walked out angrily... She couldn't help but feel and because she was the topic of their argument and hiccup...she was glad he wasn't here to...she gasped.

"Hiccup?"

The young chief stood there with eyes widened and tears welling up...Merida held her mouth.
"Hiccup please don't..."

He ran, as fast as he could with merida running after him. He ran to where toothless was and jumped on top of him, the night fury was startled and took off immediately, merida grabbed toothless by his tail and tried to hang on as he scored higher and higher, the wind was making her lose grip and soon...

"Hiccup!" She screamed as she plummeted down fast.
"Merida!" Hiccup panicked and redirected toothless towards her and soon swooped her, she gripped him hard in fear, shivering.

"Hiccup" she whispered
"It's okay" he reassured and soon they flew in silence with her still holding him.

"Ah'm sorry about..."

"Don't... I'm just not...used to it you know...I know it's normal for couples but..." He sighed.

"It's okay hiccup...and ah know ah was the topic of their argument but... Ah didn't mean ta.."

"Merida don't ever blame yourself for anything okay"

"Hiccup...why...why are ye so..nice ta me"

He smiled "That answer will come at the right moment"
"So it's not the right moment?"
"Nope"

Merida fell silent, she felt it again and this time she was sure of what it was, she looked at him, care in his eyes...she smiled and then sighed, holding on to him tighter she said...

"Hiccup...Ah love ye"

Hiccup's eyes went wide open, he looked back at her. "What?"

"Ah do...ah wasn't sure before but..."

"Merida I..."

"Don't say anything....just don't"

Hiccup sighed "fine" he whispered, and soon had toothless going towards land again and when they landed, hiccup helped her down. They stared at each other awkwardly, hiccup rubbed the back of his neck.

"Can I say something now?"
"May...maybe" she smiled, he smiled.
"I love you too"

Merida smiled but then frowned and sighed.
"What's wrong?"
"It's... Nothing.. Goodnight hiccup" she said and walked away before he could say anything.

A/N: Finally right!!!😍💖😊 I'm so glad it happened but let's just say it won't last long 😏 and I'm sure you all know what will happen but let's leave that for the next chapter...I'm also sad to say that it will be ending soon...I mean, what has a beginning must have an ending but I don't wanna make you guys sad now😂.
