Peters POV
I rushed out of the apartment to go and buy some flowers before catching the first train to the hospital. At this point, it was the only thing I could truly do to stay connected to her.

I felt like a failure.

"Peter, are you sure you want me to come? I mean the Avengers will be there, I don't want to be a disappointment." (Y/N) pouts as she stares at me with her beautiful, big, (E/C) eyes that I loved so much.

"(Y/N), they'll love you. You're all I talk about and if anything they can't wait to meet you tonight." I tell her and hug her small body.

"Okay, if you say so. I'm actually kind of excited." She slowly admits as she cuddles in closer to me.

I sat there for hours and hours watching her breathe until the heart monitor started to annoy me but what could I do? If I could take that day back I would, just to have (Y/N) be able to speak to me again. She was just laying there now, lifeless and all I could do was wait.

"The tower is so big Pete." She whispered as she grabbed on to me tighter.

"Just wait until you see the inside," I tell her and her eyes get wider as if possible. She tugs at my shirt and drags me inside without hesitation.

It was the little things that she got excited about that made me love her and miss her more. Every little thing she saw made her whole world light up.

"(Y/N), so nice to finally meet you," Thor said as he approached us in the hall. (Y/N) squeezed my hand tighter than she had intended then quickly let go.

"Nice to meet you too. Wow, your muscles are a lot bigger in person." She says with a big smile on her face and Thor smiles back at her.

"She's a keeper," Thor told me then patted me on the back as we headed to the rooftop.

A year since that night and everything has still been the same. She was still unresponsive and it didn't help that she would be off of life support by the end of the week.

"Thank you all for coming to this small gathering tonight." Tony started out as we were enjoying ourselves on the roof that night.

"Get to the news!" Banner yelled from behind (Y/N) and I. She eyes me with concern and I give her the same look not knowing what Banner meant by 'the news'.

"As some of your know, The Avengers will be relocating to a bigger, safer, more secluded place." Tony finished off and I frown slightly. That's when it started.

I grabbed her cold hands and held them in mine, a small tear escaping my eyes.

"I should have never asked you to come with me to that damn dinner party. I was so stupid." I mumbled into her knuckles, a tear falling onto them.

An explosion had gone off within the tower and now everything was tilting over the edge.

"Peter! Don't let go. Please don't let go!" She yelled to me with tears in her eyes. She was afraid and I had put her in this position.

"I won't!" I say and grab onto her hand tighter, my suit ripping a little in the process. "Look at me (Y/N), don't look down."

"I remember when you found out I was Spider-man. You weren't mad that I was keeping it a secret, you were so thrilled that you had a superhero boyfriend." I chuckled remembering her facial expression for that day. She looked at me as if I was her hero. It meant everything to me.

"I remember that on our first date I was so nervous that I couldn't help but keep stuttering. You told me it was okay and that you loved that though." I smile into her knuckles and close my eyes.

"Vulture! What are you doing here." I say as I see the flying man above me. I hear more commotion going on behind me but I couldn't keep my eyes off of (Y/N).

"I couldn't let my little Spider-boy go off with the Avengers without saying goodbye first." He swoops down towards my arm where I was desperately trying to hold (Y/N). My hand slipped.

"And Homecoming because you looked so damn beautiful baby. It was also the first time you told me you loved me."

"Peter!" She yelled as she started to fall off of the Tower's roof. I don't hesitate to jump off and start shooting my webs at her.

"You'll never reach her in time." The Vulture cracks up in the air as he watched me in the process of failing. I see (Y/N) glance down as she continued to fall, coming to face her reality. I shake my head at her as I continue to shoot my webs.

Why the hell was I missing so many times?

She looks at me one last time, tears in her eyes but a smile on her face. She mumbled a small 'I love you' before closing her eyes and accepting her fate.

Finally, I had gotten a web around her body, but her head still managed to hit the concrete.

"I want you to live, I want that more than anything in this world. I want you to fight like hell to stay with me." I kneel down by the bed and watch as her chest goes up and down.

I needed her back, I needed her here with me but I couldn't hold her back at the same time. If she was meant to go then she was meant to go. Who was I to try and stop the inevitable?

I take in a sharp breath.

"With everybody else giving up, I know, it might not be what you want. It might be too hard for you to keep fighting, so... if you wanna go, I want you to know it's okay." I say while crying over her knuckles, the tears not seeming to stop now.

"Just know that I love you and I will never stop." I finally say when my harsh breathing subsided. I place my head in the crook of her neck and try to save this moment. Probably one of my last.

Then I felt it.

A slight movement from under me but I ignore it at first thinking I'm just imagining things. It happens again and this time it seems as if the fingers I was holding onto were now caressing mine gently.

There's a sharp and sudden gasp that fills the small hospital room and the heart monitor seems to beep faster.

"Pete..." The oh-so-familiar small voice squeezed out. I immediately lifted my head from the crook of her neck and stare at her in disbelief. She's alive, she's out of the coma. Before I can even say a word she cuts me off.

"It's not your fault...if anything...." She places her small left hand on my face. She caresses my face and runs her delicate little fingers throughout my hair. I close my eyes, taking in her touch to make sure this was real.

"... if anything, you're the one who saved me from dying." She reassured me. I shake my head in the palm of her hand.

"You're just saying that," I tell her as she continued to hold on to me, almost making sure I wouldn't let her go again.

"No, I mean it." She coughs. "None of this is your fault Peter and don't you dare say it was."
