part 2
YOUR POV
"(Y/N)!" You heard your name being yelled. You snapped out of your thoughts and bring your mind back to the group. It was Monday, two weeks since the incident occurred. You couldn't lie, you've been really distracted since then. It just felt like a part of you was missing.
"Huh?" You mumbled to the group. You admit you've been in and out of it lately ever since Peter found out your relationship was based on a bet. You felt like a piece of shit and you bet Peter wasn't feeling any better.
"We've been talking to you for the last 5 minutes. Can you say something?" Your friend Wendy states.
"Sorry, what was the question?" You asked, bringing your attention back to the group.
"Jake here believes that Hulk would win in a fight against Thor. I said that Thor would win since he's the god of thunder. Tell him I'm right." You arch your eyebrows at your friends. This is what they interrupted you for?
"Yeah, whatever, you're right. I don't really care." You say then lean back into the cafeteria chair and returned to being silent.
"(Y/N), are you okay?" Wendy asked.
"Yeah, why?" You reply nonchalantly.
"You've just been super down lately." Another one of your friends says.
"I'm fine."
"You know, I think it started that day when that nerd kid came to our table." Your eyes widened at the group in front of you when your friend Jake says that.
"His name is Peter." You kind of yelled at them. "Besides, he has nothing to do with this." You cross your arms.
"Omg! (Y/N), you totally liked him." Your friend Amber says. "You guys broke up that day too right?"
"What?" You ask in a tone that denied the truth. You felt your face flush at their comments.
"Omg is she right?" Jake asked you. Truthfully, you didn't want to answer the question still. It bothered you. Why did it matter what they think? You were getting tired of having to pretend.
"You know what? You guys are bad friends. I don't even know why I hang out with you." You say then get up from the table. You tuck your arms into your sweater and make your way out of the cafeteria.
You didn't want to stay there and let them continue to make fun of Peter when you were upset about the way things went down. You turn the corner after closing the cafeteria door and decide to sit down by some lockers in the hallway. You take a deep breath in and before you know it, tears start to stream down your face. They kept coming and coming.
You just couldn't hold it in anymore you, were tearing up inside. Peter was like the friend you never had, and the boyfriend you never had either. The group that you hung out with right now did everything they did just for attention and popularity but you didn't care about that, not anymore. If being with Peter meant having to leave the group, you would do it. If you could turn back the clock and confront your friends about dating Peter, you would do it.
You were snapped from your thoughts when you heard small footsteps in the hallway coming towards you. You lifted your head from your hands, in the crying position you were in, to look where the sound was coming from. It was Peter, and he stopped in his tracks once he saw you sitting on the floor.
You quickly wipe your eyes, free of the tears, and acted like everything was alright. He felt bad and he couldn't explain it, but he just knew that you were crying because of him. He contemplated walking up to you and making sure you were okay but quickly decided not to.
