"Steve?"

"Nancy?"

"Jonathan?"

"Cass?"

"What are you doing here?" Nancy exclaimed, stomping up to the group, obviously not happy.

"What are you doing here?" Steve shot back, confused.

"We're looking for Mike and Will," Nancy explained, meeting the group in the middle. Jonathan offers Cass an awkward smile, which she returns, probably looking just like how Max had described her before; a zombie.

"Oh," Cass says, biting her lip. "We're looking for alien dogs."

Dustin looks to the lab, worry laced in the hues of his wide eyes. "They're not in there, are they?"

Nancy's eyebrows were laced together in obvious concern and confusion, looking between Cass and Steve, Steve still keeping the shaking girl up with his arm around her waist. For some odd reason, Cassie felt a tingling sensation fill her stomach at the fact that he didn't remove his arm in the presence of his ex-girlfriend. "We're not sure," Nancy finally said.

"Why?" Jonathan asked, thinking back to Cass's words about alien dogs.

A sudden screeching echoed from inside the lab, answering the boy's question and making everyone's heads snap in it's direction.

The group instantly got into a debate about where Will was and where they last saw him. At a sudden flash of light, both Cassie and Nancy's heads turn to the lab, making the same discovery. "The power's back."

They make it to the gate in record time, desperate to find the missing kids. Jonathan rushed into the booth, pressing the button. Nothing happens.

Dustin pushes in, "Let me try." Jonathan refuses, "Hang on-" Dustin shouts at him, pushing him away "Let me try, Jonathan!" He proceeds to repeatedly push the button.

Steve, Cass, Nancy, Max, and Lucas all stand in front of the gate, waiting desperately for it to open. Cassie bounces on her feet from next to Steve, chewing on her cheek. "This doesn't feel right." She can feel Steve's eyes on the side of her face, burning into her skin.

It started with a nudge on her pinky and then their hands were intertwined. Cass looked at the boy who was already looking at her, offering her a reassuring smile. She felt a hot gaze on the other side of her face, from the direction Nancy stood at. Cassie's eyebrows were furrowed, opening her mouth to speak when the gate suddenly opened.

"Hey, hey!" Dustin called, a wide smile on his face. "I got it!" Looking back at him, hand still tangled in Steve's, the older girl shot him a toothy grin, laughing at the innocence in his tone. Nancy and Jonathan took the car to the side of the lab, leaving the others to wait anxiously. Steve and Cass leant against the booth, his arm back around her waist. Sweat still poured out of her skin, eyes blood shot.
