"Ahoy!"
Robin's head jerked up at the sound of Cassiopeia Turner's voice, instantly a large, tooth-filled smile stretching across her face at the sight of the curly-haired teen leaning against the counter. Cass's own lips were twisted upwards, her skin practically glowing from being almost nine months sober.
Robin leaned over the counter, eyes flickering back and forth between the door to the break room and the girl in front of her, whispering, "You know, you still have time to run, you're so out of his league-"
"Robin, you do this every day-" Before Cass can continue, Robin lets out a loud groan of defeat, throwing her head back to shout loudly, causing a few bystanders to give her a weird look.
"Harrington, your girlfriend's here!"
At the sound of crashing in the back room, both girls look at each other, humored grins on their faces, Robin once again trying to sway the girl, "If you start now, you can outrun him-"
Steve clobbers through the door and before either Robin or Cass can react, Cassiopeia feels a pair of strong arms wrap around her, pinning her to her boyfriend's chest. "I missed you."
Robin snorts from where she's serving a customer, but Cass smiles into Steve's chest, laughing lightly as she tried to speak through the tight space in between the pair, "I saw you last night, dipshit."
"And those twelve hours since then have been gruesome and awful, C, you have no idea." Steve finally released her slightly, not removing his arms from around her waist.
"Well, how about you take me back there and tell me all about it," Cass suggested, wiggling her brows up at the taller boy, Robin groaning from beside them, "Please do, you're starting to drive the customers away."
Cassie stuck her tongue out at the younger teen who copied her actions in response, Steve already dragging his girlfriend to the back room, ignoring the short haired girl's comment.
Cassie slid onto the table in the small room, Steve's eyes never leaving her as she did, eyes full of awe and a small smile on his lips. "You're staring," Cassie pointed out, eyes meeting his, causing a jump in both of their hearts.
"Admiring," he corrected, moving so he was in front of her, knees forcing her legs apart, hands gripping either side of her hips. Cass's fingers instantly reached up to tangle themselves in Steve's infamous hair, lightly tugging at the roots.
"It's a little creepy," she joked, the playful smile on her lips contrasting the serious look in Steve's eyes. Her head tilted up at him, lips inches apart, their eyes remaining connected even as a teasing smile breaks out on Steve's lips. "For someone who's calling it creepy, you're getting awfully close, there."
This makes Cass's nose crinkle in a way that lights up Steve's heart, thumping in a rhythm that only played when Cassie was near and the boy can't help the way his fingers twitch against her hips, pushing them forward, the shorter girl letting out a gasp at the sudden roughness.
And finally, their lips connected, melting together slowly as if they couldn't get enough of the taste of each other. Heat spread throughout Cassie's body, making her feel a high that she'd never reached before. It was an amazing rush, like one before something phenomenal happens. Instead, for her, it wasn't a rollercoaster, or meeting the members of her favorite band. It was simply Steve Harrington, gripping onto her like she was his lifeline, and in a way, she was. Something about simply existing near each other made both of them feel so... complete.
Her lips molded to his in a synchronicity that Steve thought was absolutely divine. His heart beats so loud that he was sure the entire mall could hear it when he swipes his tongue over her bottom lip, the gasp it creates making his body explode with heat. He reorients himself so Cass can lean back slightly, Steve leaning on one hand, their chests touching, his other hand gipping tightly onto Cass's hip.
Cassie's hands tug onto the roots of Steve's hair, making the boy groan in pleasure at the feeling, her dainty fingers delicately moving to run over and down his head, the gentle urgency of her fingers making chills zip down Steve's spine. And the following dig of her fingers into his hair as his lips suddenly detached, trailing to the hollow of her throat was a sharp contrast. Cass could feel Steve's smirk against her throat as she let out a soft whine, his name quietly tumbling from her lips like a prayer.
The look on his face was one of pure pride, knowing that he drove her just as crazy as she drove him. Steve wished he had a camera so he could capture the absolute art happening right before his eyes as he examined his girlfriend, her head thrown back, eyes screwed shut as his teeth left raging, purple marks against her neck.
"Hey dingus, your kids are here!"
Robin's interruption made the both of them groan, Cass's head tilting back dramatically, the two teens breathless and disorientated. She slid off the table, smoothing out her uniform, Steve letting out a whine at her actions. "If we ignore them long enough they'll go away," he spoke, his hand grabbing Cass's wrist to pull her into him.
Laughing, Cass reached forward to kiss Steve one last time, the ringing of the bell outside becoming more persistent. The one kiss turned into six, Cassie laughing elatedly as she finally managed to pull away, Steve groaning at her next words. "My break's over anyways, besides, i'm sure you have some very serious ice cream matters to attend to."
At her teasing words, Steve pointed his finger at her, "Hey, I get free ice cream whenever I want, what could you possibly get as an employee at LoveLace that's better than that."
Raising her eyebrows at her boyfriend, she teasingly tugged part of her uniform down, revealing bright red lace that covered her hips, Steve taking an almost comical gulp at the sight. "Discounts, genius." Steve reached for her again, but Cass was already out the door, a loud laugh following in her wake, making Steve groan, smoothing out his messy hair and making his way to the glass windows and sliding them open to reveal the group of cock blockers, minus Dustin Henderson, staring at him smugly.
"Again? Seriously?"
His only response was from Mike Wheeler, who held a bored expression on his face as he pressed the bell again, the ringing making Robin shoot a glare at Steve Harrington. With a roll of his eyes, Steve led them through the back room and into the connecting hallways, rushing them through as they passed.
"I swear, if anybody hears about this-" Steve threatens, but he was cut off by the entire group reciting his next words, "We're dead."
After a moment, Steve sighs, walking back into the back room, continuing his break Cassie-less.
From where she stood at the counter, Robin had her eyes glued to her watch, watching the second hand tick around, lips twitching when she hears the glass doors slide open furiously behind her.
"I miss her."
Robin lets her hand fall, reaching under the counter to produce a white board, uncapping the red marker as Steve watches, unimpressed.
"Six minutes, Harrington, that's almost a record. But you still said it, so..." Robin trails off, showing Steve the board, an added tally mark under the 'you suck' column.
"You suck."
