PETER'S POV

Finally, the last bell rings. Today has been an awfully long day. Each day lately has been long you know, it's been tough since... tony. Before I felt excited to leap out after school to impress mr stark. Now days I feel pressure to do stuff that would make him proud. Kinda kills the whole "comedically insulting criminals" vibe I've got going on.
It doesn't make it any better by not seeing MJ this morning. Sometimes I feel like Ned treats me like I'm too emotionally fragile and ready to break down at any second. I mean, I appreciate his support but I kinda like how normal MJ treats me. She doesn't avoid words like 'iron' and 'man', or even 'cheeseburger' as Ned has officially deleted it from his vocabulary.
I wonder where she was today, she hasn't replied to any messages.

Me and Ned start walking over to the bus when I hear my phone go off. In a rush a check to see if it's from MJ, almost throwing my phone on the road, but unfortunately it's Fury. Nick Fury.
He wants to meet with me about some "mission." Frankly I'd rather avoid him, but to be honest I don't want Nick Fury hunting me down, so I tell him:

' I'm on my way 🕷'

"Hey Ned I gotta go... duty calls."

I soon arrive at a "no longer used" SHIELD underground office, as Fury usually likes to uphold his dark, brooding vibe.

"Parker, it's nice to see you show up so fast." Fury bellows.

"It's no problem sir, happy to help as always" I say with a sarcastic smile. I tend to come up with excuses with Fury asks for him now days. It's not too cheery holding a conversation with a man who likes to bring up iron man as often as possible.

"You'll like this one smart ass. It'll be quick and easy. I'd just like you to check out a "strange occurrence" over by Times Square."

"Define 'strange' occurrence?" I question.

Fury waves his arm around, dismissing his last statement. "Not really 'strange' as such, just... unknown. We've had some sightings underneath Times Square of an oddly bright light. It's probably nothing but I'd like it if you two were to pop down and have a look."

I scrunch my nose. "We two? Who? Ned? I already told you guys he's not than kinda guy. He's my.. ya know.. chair guy-" I get cut off.

"Not him, her" Fury points around the corner, followed by some foot steps from an emerging figure.
"Parker meet-"

"Spinneret!" I say, a little too excitedly. "Oh wow um I'm- I'm Spider-Man, I am a HUGE fan of your work!" I shake her hand vigorously. "God ever since I saw you take out those two guys with the stop sign, I've been admiring your moves-" I panic realising that sounded more pervy than I intended. "Oh god not like.. in a creepy way oh aha no no oh god, I mean like in utter admiration- I'm gonna shut up now."

She smiles at me, and looks down at our hands, still shaking, I realise and pull away.

"It's nice to finally meet you too."

Oh god she's much cooler in person.

I try my very best to stay cool and professional, but I know I've already blown it.

"Spinneret and I have been working all day, she's quite good at being reliable and committed." Fury glares at me. He knows damn well how often I lie to get out of missions.
"Since you two are gonna be working together," Fury states. "I suggest letting each other in on your identities."

"Of course!" I say, removing my mask. "Hi", I jokingly go to re introduce myself, holding out my hand. "My name's-"

"Peter" she stares at me, almost like she's shocked. But I'm the one who should be shocked, how the heck does she know who I am? "Dude I KNEW IT!" She rips off her mask.

Holy
Shit.

"MJ?!"
