Something is wrong

The three of us are sat together (Jack being in the middle) on his bed. In order to all see the laptop screen, we've all become quite squashed. No one is complaining to our discomfort, although I kind of want to adjust my legs a little, I have to concentrate on keeping them from sliding off the side of the bed.
We're about half way through at this point, I think Jack likes it.

"So," Jack says "that's his mom, right?"

MJ and I hold back our laughter.

"Yep." I say, grinning. This movie cracks me up man.

"CAS!" We hear Dean's voice down the hallway.
"Where'd you go?"

Jack stares at the closed door. I can tell he's worried about Dean.
"I'm gonna go check on him. Please pause the movie." Jack shuffles off the bed, trying his best not to slide over our legs.

"Let's just talk Cas! C'moooon!" His slurred voice is getting louder as he walks to our end of the hallway. "It shouldn't have happened! I mean c'mon!"

I grab jack by the shoulder and gesture for him to be quiet. Out of complete curiosity as to what the hell those two are, I tip toe to our door and place my ear to it. Jack and MJ follow me with the same intentions.

"Dean," we hear Cas' voice and foot steps, quiet and fragile. "You're obviously drunk, I'm not going to talk about this now."

"Cas Cas Cas please. Please. I am sorry ok?" I can hear so much pain in his voice. Quite different from the standard sarcasm I've heard from him so far.

"Dean," Cas starts to whisper "nothing even happened. I don't know why you're being dramatic."

"IM being dramatic?" Dean raises his voice. "Yoooou mister, were the dramatic one."

"Dean, you're literally dealing with it through alcohol? That sounds a little dramatic to me."

"Dealing with what? NOTHING. HAPPENED!"

From the distance, I hear Sam's voice; "EVERYTHING ALRIGHT?"

I can't quite work out what's happening, but I can hear feet shuffling and Deans 'shh'.

"Sam can't know." Dean whispers, followed by a silence. "Please Cas." He pleads.

"There's nothing to tell." Cas says as he's walking back down the hallway.

This is intense. I mouth to MJ 'what the fuck'.

Without pre warning, the door begins to open, forcing me, Jack and MJ to jump quickly to our feet and act as natural as possible.

"Oh." Dean says in the door-way. "I didn't know you all were here." He starts walking back out.

"Wait." Jack stops him "What's wrong?"

"Oh nothing." He says sarcastically. "I just wanted to talk to you but I also feel I'd regret that conversation in the morning so goodnight folks!" He throws up a peace sign as he closes the door.

The look on Jacks face can only be described as 'angry confusion.'
"I don't understand." He says.

I look over to MJ, it seems we both have the same thought.
"I'm guessing their relationship is a bit more complicated than we thought." I say.

"But. I thought they loved each other. They're family. Why are they fighting?" Jack says, softly.

"Well," MJ starts "sometimes it's harder than expected to tell someone you love how you feel. And sometimes, secrets can divide people."

That last sentence sparks my attention, I try not to make eye contact with MJ, but in the corner of my eye I can tell she's doing the same.

"You think... Dean is keeping secrets from Cas?" Jack asks.

"Maybe he's not just keeping secrets from Cas, but from himself too?" MJ suggests. "Also sometimes people keep secrets because they're afraid."

"Afraid of what?" Jack questions.

"Getting rejected or... Being judged..." MJ replies.

I suddenly feel the conversation to be a lot more real than a couple seconds ago.
I decide I want to exit this, in hopes that it'll eventually segway.
I excuse myself to go get a glass of water from the kitchen.

When I get there, I notice Castiel standing, leaning back up against one of the benches with his arms crossed. He looks lost in thought.

"Hey Cas." I gently wave at him.

"Hello Peter." He replies, in a deep voice.

"Everything ok?" I politely ask.

He rolls his head back and sighs. Obviously something isn't right between him and Dean. I don't want to intrude...
but I'm also hella curious.

"No. No, everything's fine." He says bluntly.

"Ok... cool cool cool..." I say under my breath.
"Have you seen Dean lately? You know if he's ok? Cause I mean, last time I saw him he didn't seem too... good."

"I'm sure he's fine. He always is." And with that said, Castiel pats me on the shoulder, exiting the kitchen.

Something is definitely not right here. I'm actually starting to worry about these two. I decide it's worth talking to Sam about.
I'm sure he'll know what's going on.
