I don't remember when, but I must of passed out. I open my eyes from my bed and see Castiel standing in the door way. My eyes take a minute to focus, but I can soon see the worried expression on his face.
"Are you ok, Peter?"
"Yeah, yeah." I shuffle my body to sit upwards. That pain very quickly returns to the forefront of my thoughts.
"I just thought I'd come check on you. Are you hungry? It's almost 1 o'clock."
I rub my eyes. Have I really been asleep for that long? "Yeah, yeah I could eat."
Castiel starts heading out the door. I follow him into the kitchen.
"Hey uh so they're not back yet?" I ask.
He grins, "No. I don't think they'll be back till much later. This kind of thing usually takes a while." He opens the fridge and pulls out some ingredients. He grabs the bread, preparing a sandwich.
I sit down at the dining table. I know for some people cramps are reduced when standing and stretching, but for me, all I wanna do is crawl into fetus position and wait till the week's over.
"So Peter, how's aunt May?" Castiel asks, still making the sandwich.
"Yeah I mean she's not too bad- Wait." I stop and think for a split second. I never mentioned aunt May to him? But then I remember; "Almost forgot I'm some character over here. Feels a little weird to have my whole life on show like that."
"Well." Castiel starts, "It's not technically a direct link to you per say. But more our universe's 'version' of you. We've all got doppelgängers across the multiverse. I once had the pleasure of killing myself."
I scrunch my face at him in confusion.
"I mean." He stumbles, "I once met an evil German version of myself, and I happened to kill him at the time..."
"Uh...cool."
He places the finished sandwich onto a plate, then proceeds to walk down and sit it in front of me. "I hope you like ham."
"Aren't you having one?" I ask him.
He sits down across from me. "Well actually, angels don't need to eat. I could, but I wouldn't have the same experience through taste as you would. It's too underwhelming for my angelic senses to perceive."
I take a bite from my sandwich. "Well that sucks. I mean no disrespect to angels and uh the big guy." I almost choke on my sandwich.
Castiel just stares at me, almost in awe. I suppose it must be weird to meet a version of a character you've seen on tv.
I can only imagine meeting Jake Peralta."Castiel, can I ask you something?"
"Of course Peter."
"What makes Spider-Man so interesting? Like why would anyone bother to watch stuff about a kid who doesn't know what he's doing?"
Castiel looks up for a second, thinking of what to say. "Well, personally, I like Spider-Man because he doesn't know what he's doing. He's unlike any other superhero. He's relatable and witty. He's also just extremely likeable. How could you not like a kid who uses his great power responsibly, and at the same time, acts as any kid with powers would."
I think I can feel my heart smiling. That was so sweet. I don't even know what to say. "Thanks." I say, shyly.
"I think Spider-Man has been one of those memorable events to happen on this earth. The numerous amount of pop culture references and direct relatability to the character has conformed the earths culture into a more loving and understanding one. The older I get, the more I learn that it's the little things that build up to make the big differences."
"Wow." I genuinely don't know how to respond. "Angels and God... you guys really care about this stuff?"
"Well," Castiel sighs, "some of us." He smiles at me. "How does your sandwich taste?"
"It's perfect sir, thank you." I happily take another bite.
"Peter can I ask you something?"
I'm sort of taken back. What does an angel of the all knowing want to know from me? "Sure."
"Your web shooters. Can you..." he gestures his hand awkwardly, pretending to shot a web.
Wow. I suddenly get so nervous and excited, it's like I'm meaning a fan. I shoot my hand out, shooting a web that grabs onto a glass on the kitchen bench, and pull it back to me. However, I didn't realise the cup was full of water. Now me and Castiel are covered in water. But he doesn't look mad, he looks impressed and excited.
"Aha... sorry."
