With each step I take closer in our walk towards these terrifying strangers car, I hear May's voice clearer and clearer;

'Peter if I have to tell you again that kidnapping is a real AND common threat-'

'Stranger danger is real Peter stop laughing.'

I've never taken her remarks that seriously, but I got to say I'm kinda starting to look on the dark side now. What if they are kidnappers? What if they wanna sell us to the Russian mafia?
Who am I kidding, I've got Spinneret by my side. She'll take these guys out in seconds if things go south.
Oh yeah, and I'm Spider-Man.

My vision is quite blurry at this point, I'm fairly sure I managed to hit my hit on the way down. I can also tell that MJ is limping quite badly, but is pretending it's not that bad. My 1 remaining brain cell is telling me that the hospital is a good idea. But my fight or flight response is kinda just telling me to yeet on out of here at run away. But then again, where the hell would we run to?

I look over to MJ walking besides me, who isn't even making eye contact with me. We've managed to keep our distance from the random men we are following, by walking kinda slow. Every now and then they whip their heads, as if to check if we are still there.

We've been walking for a long 5 mins now and MJ hasn't spoken in a while. I'm beginning to worry about her. Her lack of dramatic commentary on this scenario is freaking me out.

"MJ? You good?" I whisper to her.
She doesn't look at me.
I nudge my elbow into her side, as gentle as possible. Still no response.
This is kinda awkward. She looks sort of upset, a little spaced out maybe? I'm not very good at comforting people. I never know what to say or what to do. Like do I hug them? When I'm sad I love a good hug. Or maybe she wants some peace and quiet?
Shit I'm a bad friend.
In my defence I've never seen MJ upset before. Nor has she really seen me upset before? How is it that two people can spend so much time together yet hardly any at all?
Maybe I should just ask her what's up.

"Hey MJ..." I whisper. "Is something the matter?"

This time she turns to me.

"I think I know why our coms aren't working."

"What?" I ask, totally confused.

"We're not on earth."

I stop in my tracks. Processing that statement.
MJ stops and faces me.

"But it looks like earth, right? So maybe this is some kind of..." she gestures to the sky, "alternative reality or something."

"MJ... are you suggesting that the multiverse is in fact a reality and we have managed to walk through a breach to another version of earth with the same physical features and time period as ours..." I take a breath "But is vibrating on another frequency so it allows the multiple earths to occupy the same space without intertwining in each other?" I stare eagerly for a reply.

"Uh... yeah exactly that." MJ mumbles, unenthusiastically.

"SHUT THE FRONT DOOR." I yell, much louder than I intended.

"Hey," Dean turns around "what's the hold up?"

I yell back out to him as MJ and I pick up the pace "uh n-nothing sir!" I awkwardly salut to him. Can't tell if that's the potential brain damage or just my own awkwardness.

"Cars right here Dean." Yells his brother Sam. "Lets get you guys checked out, then if you like we can give you guys a ride home to your parents."

MJ and I stare at each other.
I've gotta feeling home is a lot further away than a car ride.
