New world new rules

"So... ghosts?" I let the words roll off my tongue. I can hardly believe them myself. I can imagine it now; my death becoming a featuring story for Buzzfeed Unsolved.

"Basically..." Dean answers, leaving enough silence for me and MJ to add remarks, but we both are just kind of sitting there, quiet, in the backseat of the brothers strangely cool car.
"Me and Sam here have been fighting them and... other things since we were kids. We're what you'd call 'specialists'."

"I think the ghost we saw in there was a fairly not threatening spirit. Looked like someone who probably just got a little freaked after meeting their reaper." Sam adds. "Nothing too unusual really."

"Been there." Dean jokes.... I think?

"NOPE." MJ abruptly states. "I've seen a lot of crazy shit on our earth, I am not opening myself up to the possibility of the afterlife." She scoffs at her own ridiculousness.

Sam's forehead crinkles, "I'm sorry, did you say your earth?"

MJ let's out a big sigh. "Oh yes! To make things even weirder, me and spider boy over here have accidentally fallen into your mad world with no idea on how to get back."

Dean and Sam stare at each other like they are sharing some telepathic conversation.

"I believe you kids have come to the right people." Dean smirks. "We know a thing or two about parallel universes. Hell, we've traveled to some ourselves." Dean gloats, looking to Sam only to see his face of disappointment.

The corners of my mouth curls up as I struggle to find something to say. "This is amazing."

"So... can you guys help us?"

"Oh yeah easy!" Dean answers. Sam looks at him as if he's like saying 'really.' "Oh wait not so easy aha. There's a few ingredients and uh 'friends' we need in order to make the spell. But we should be able to get everything together pretty fast."

"How fast?" MJ asks.

Dean sighs while he calculates. "I'd say a week at the longest."

"A week?!" MJ and I say in unison.

This is not how I thought this mission would go. It's definitely past curfew now, a week later is definitely gonna freak May out. I don't wanna do that to her.
"Well can we maybe hurry up? I mean like I've got homework due before then." I say in a panic.

"We will get started first thing in the morning." Dean says, as he puts the keys into ignition. "Right now you kids need some sleep. We've got a spare room at our place." He puts the car into reverse and starts to leave the hospital car park.

"Oh thanks..." MJ whispers. I can tell she's unimpressed. I can relate. This sucks.

"Dean," Sam says, "let's stop at the store at the way home to get some extra supplies." Sam turns his head around to us, "You guys feel free to pick out anything you need." He awkwardly smiles at us.

"Thank you guys, you really didn't have to do all this." I say.

Dean laughs, "Oh please as if we wouldn't. I mean it's not everyday my favourite comic book characters comes to life! And don't even get me started on the MCU."

Excuse me but
