daniel woke up to a loud bang from downstairs. he shook jonah quietly to get him up.

"daniel go back to sleep" jonah groaned and turned over.

"jo there's someone downstairs" daniel whispered, jonah laid on his back and looked up at daniel.

"it's probably our parents now come here" jonah stretched his arms out toward daniel. he sighed when he got a scared look in return.

with a groan, jonah got up and walked towards the door. daniel followed him and jonah motioned for him to be quiet.

they walked out of the door and headed to the stairs, jonah slowly made his way down making sure to keep his eyes open for movement.

just as they got to the last step jonah walked to the kitchen to see what was making all of the noise. daniel clutched onto his arm for dear life.

turns out there was nothing in the kitchen but a smashed plate. "see i told you there was nothing to worry abo-" before he could finish his sentence he was hit in the head with a bat. he fell to the floor with a loud thud and daniel screamed.

"jonah! jonah wake up please!" daniel cried out shaking the boy violently. tears were streaming down his face he looked up to lock eyes with familiar blue eyes.

"you thought you could get away from me sugar?" eben gave him a sinister smile and grabbed him.

"no, no, no get off of me!" he screamed as he was dragged away from jonahs lifeless body and screamed at the top of his lungs.

jonah stirred and noticed daniel wasn't next to him. he got up and hissed at the searing pain that he was feeling. he looked up to see daniel being dragged away.

"daniel? daniel! daniel!" he tried to run but instantly fell to the floor.

"jonah help me please!" daniel screamed for him but it was too late eben was too strong and he could only hear jonah screaming his name before everything went black.

"daniel wake up wake up!" jonah woke up to daniel screaming his name, and not in the way he expected.

he shook him trying to get him out of his current state. he was sweating like crazy and thrashing all around.

"get off of me!" daniel screamed and continued to move. jonah whispered sweet things into his ear trying to calm him down and daniel shot up.

his breathing was short and he was hyperventilating. "jo?" he turned around to see jonah staring back at him and a wave of relief washed over him.

he pulled jonah into a tight hug and cried. "what happened bubs?" jonah cradled daniel in his arms and rubbed his back.

daniel explained to jonah what happened and he sighed. "eben isn't going to hurt you, baby, not on my watch." daniel nodded and snuggled into his arms.

"i love you"

"i love you too" jonah kissed daniels forehead and they fell asleep. this time daniel didn't have a terrifying nightmare.

"oo what about this one?" keri picked up a black tuxedo and showed it to daniel.

"yeah... it's nice" daniel sighed and smiled at her. she nodded and gave it to him.

"go try it on" she motioned to the changing room and he went.

daniel closed the door behind him and locked it. he undressed from his current outfit and put on the tux.

he stared at his reflection in the mirror and frowned. he fixed the collar and ruffled his hair. the wedding was in two days and he has never been more nervous.

he walked back out to his mom and she squealed. "oh my gosh you look adorable" she ran over to him and hugged him tightly.

she pinched his cheeks and smiled. "this is the one" they ended up buying that suit and another one for jonah.

"honey are you okay you've been acting weird since we got here?" his mom turned to him.

"y-yeah i'm just not used to the feeling of you getting married to another man." daniel lied through his teeth and it killed him.

"you know i will always love your father more than any other man. i understand that this will take some time and it that won't be easy, but i'm hoping you can learn to accept them into our family." keri leaned in for a hug and daniel smiled.

"as long as your happy, i'm happy"
