You laid in bed with your eyes closed and sighed, you got home from the gallery showing an hour ago and wanted to wait up for John but didn't have it in you. You'd both been working so much lately you barley saw each other. You either painting or at a showing for your work, he recording or writing with Macca. You missed him and it hurt like hell. His stupid goofy smile, his cheeky sense of humor, his enthralling intellectual side, his soft demeanor towards you, that no one else got to see. For the love of God you missed him so bad and the more you thought about him the more you missed him.

You sighed and turned over, starring at the dark wall with the Elvis poster on it; his gold suit reflecting in the light of the moon. Closing your eyes you drifted off to sleep, starring at Elvis's shoes one last time before you did. As darkness overtook your body you felt like you where falling; down, down, down you went; until you saw John. He was standing there smiling, holding his arms out towards you for an embrace. You smiled and walked towards him, he pulled you towards himself and whispered, "Help,"

That was all you remembered before you heard John himself come in, trying to be quiet but failing per usual, waking you up, but thinking he didn't. You could hear him undressing to get into bed. But instead if being greeted by his warm, soft, figure; you heard him sit in the ground next to the bed. That was a strange thing for him to do, you listened to his breathing. It became more and more uneven, then a sob. He was crying, he almost never cried, something was wrong.

You shifted slightly, trying to make as little noise as possible. His sobs only got louder, it broke your heart. Without his shaking form noticing, you slipped onto the floor beside him. Your clasped your hands around his thick waist, making him jump a little, then easing into your touch, "Are you okay Lenny?" you whispered, "N-n-nothing love," he murmured trying to stand up but failing due to your grip around him tightening. "Stop it doll, I'm fine really," he whispered in a not so reassuring voice.

"Lenny I love you, I know you better than anyone else, we both that's not true," he sobbed a little and buried his face in your chest. You ran your hands through his soft brown hair and kissed the top of his head and thought about what to do. "Johnny, how about we go for a drive,"   He tried to speak but chocked, then nodded.

You took his hand and led him towards the front door, the night was clear and full of stars, perfect for what he needed, "C'mon Johnny, I'll drive," he smiled, tears not subsiding and got into the passenger seat while you put the blanket, pillows, and thermos that you had retrieved from the house and put it in the back seat. You then got into the drivers seat and turned the car on, he rolled down the windows and laid his head back, "Thank you y/n, I think I need to get out," you kissed his cheek as you headed towards the country roads at thirty-five over the speed limit.

"Do you want to talk now Len?" You asked in a tentative tone, "I don't know y/n, I can't think," It's okay love you don't have to," he shook his head, "It's Brian," he whispered, your eyes grew wide in shock, something bad had happened, "Oh fuck John what is it?" You whisper-yelled, He placed his forehead on the dash of the car and whispered, "You haven't seen the news eh? He's not; he's just, he isn't. Y/n he's," his voice was becoming higher as he spoke,he couldn't speak  he was broken, "Gone," you completed sorrowfully. As much as Eppy had driven them all crazy with his rules, they loved him. You loved him, he was like a big brother to you, it was so sudden.

"Don't worry lovely, it'll be okay," you reassured, not too sure yourself that it would be. You drove further and further as the city faded away, you began to feel the country air on your faces, the clear night and all the stars. You drove a little while longer until you reached a spot you found fit.

An grassy, empty field, a single tree in the middle of it. "C'mon love," you whispered as you pulled him out of the car, grabbing the things you'd taken as well. You walked to the old, thick, willow tree; placing your things under it. You laid the bedding out and pulled John over to it, his current state nothing more than an empty shell of a man. He laid down and you pulled him close to your breast, running  your hands up and down his back. You rubbed circles under his shoulder blades and kept him close.

Tears were staining your own face as well, John was never like this around anyone, the fact that he was hurt almost as much as what had happened. He tried to be strong for everyone, and now, he couldn't. But he needed to know that was okay, he would be okay. Everyone would be okay eventually.

The two of you sat there together watching the stars until the sun came up, sometimes sitting in silence, sometimes talking quietly. It didn't matter, as long as you where together he felt safe and so did you. As the sun was rising you both gradually fell asleep, holding each other close, it turned out to be a cool, clear day. But the warmth of each other was all you needed till he was ready to go.

"Y/n," he whispered quietly, after you'd woken up from the little sleep you'd gotten, "Yes Johnny?" Your fingers where playing with his as he sat against you,"Thank you for this love, but I think we can go now," he said with a sad smile gracing his eloquent, recently tear soaked features, "Are you sure? We don't have to," he nodded and replied quietly, "It's time to face the world a bit, just time to go home," you kissed his forehead as the two of you got up, walking towards the car in the early morning mist.

As you entered the car and started it up, the clock revealed it was seven thirty a.m. early and cold, yet you left the windows down. Your foot pushed against the gas peddle and the car began to  move forward. This time you drove slow, there was no rush to get back to the hellish lives that awaited you. Your eyes shifted to John, he was leaning forward, watching the  fields full of horses and cows whiz by you.

The day turned cloudy but It didn't bother you, it suited the occasion rightfully. John let out a small laugh as you drove past a patch of sheep, little ones where hopping around like only sheep can, "I love sheep," he whispered, you smiled and said, "Me too love. But may I ask, what's going through your head right now?" He winced, "Mostly trying to think only about sheep right now I'm afriad," you let out a dry laugh and mumbled, "I'm gonna miss him," his sad eyes shifted down as he nodded, "Me too love, me too,"
