Sasha's POV
"What good news were you having?" Trav asks as he helps me leap into the building.
Oh God. My good news turned into the most painful day of my life.
"I am now bidding for the project. That's what I wanted to say." Travis' eyes widen as he smiles ear to ear.
"You mean......" He goes out of control and swoops me off the ground making my ankle collect another bunch of pain.
"I am so proud of you, little worm." He says as he places a big kiss on my cheek.
I shut my eyes so tight to try and swallow the pain without showing, but it is hard. He notices and immediately puts me down.
"Oh my God, little worm. Did I hurt you?" He slowly squats down while helping me sit carefully.
My ankle is pulsing with fire at the bone.
"Sasha?" I look up to see one of my neighbors come close, looking curious of what is happening down here.
"What happened? Are you okay?" Ow, nice neighbor. What was her name again?
"I just.. Aah...Twisted my ankle." I wince as I help my self up with Travis' body.
"Oh bwoy, that must hurt! " She exclaims. "May I help?" She is being so warm. Warmer than the first time I met them.
I get my bag off my shoulder and hand it to her. Trav carries me to the elevator.
"Hi, I am Travis." Trav smiles at her once we are inside.
"Lucy." She returns the smile.
Thank God she said her name again, or else it was going to take me a winter to remember what it was.
The elevator dings open and we move to the left where our apartments are.
Trav presses the buttons to the lock. He already knows my lock, of course.
We get inside and he puts me down on a couch. Lucy places my bag in the other couch as her eyes roam allover my apartment.
"I am sorry that I got you off work, Trav. I wanted to give you the good news and celebrating would be for later." I apologize, honestly feeling a bit horrible that I have to bother him always.
"At least Derrick witnessed what happened, so he won't have to fire me." He says as he makes his way to my kitchen.
"You can make yourself comfortable, Lucy." I say to Lucy who has not yet figured out what to do with the couch.
"How did that happen?" She asks pointing at my red ankle as she sits down.
"I was so happy that I forgot how to walk with my stiletto."
A belly laugh fills my ears and I see Lucy struggling to muffle laughter with her hand.
That was not even funny!
"Never been that happy!" She is still struggling with laughter when she says.
"Why is your kitchen so empty?" Trav shouts from the kitchen before the lyrics of his phone's ringtone fill the room.
After picking it up and briefly talking, he comes back with a sad and angry look at the same time.
"Hey, you okay?"
"Sorry little worm, I have to go back to the company. Something serious came up."
Why is he even sorry? At least he has made sure that I am home safe. That should be enough.
