Rhett's POV

"C'mon, you gotta let me bring it, it's a birthday gift!" I impatiently said to a nurse on the phone.

"Fine, but the kitten must either be with you or your daughter, no free roaming." She said back to me. Perfect. Hallie's birthday is tomorrow, and Jessie thought of getting her a kitten!

"Lock! Shep! Let's get in the car!!" Locke and Shepard bolted down the stairs to the door

"Cows go ding dong!" shepard said to me as I grabbed his coat, I laughed at his randomness, he has said some crazy things. The four of us all got into the car, I started it upa nd we backed out of the driveway.

"Where are we going?" Locke asked.

"Y'a know how you always said you wanted a pet?"

"Yeah..." Locke responded.

"Now were getting one."

Shepard and Locke both cheered as we pulled into the pet store.

"You two go find a cat you like, Dad and I are going to find one for Hallie." Jessie told the boys. Of course, they somehow ran towards the snakes.

I walked over to the kittens, Hallie had told me that she loves black cats, and being a kitten would add to the cuteness overload.

"Jessie, look at this one." I said. It was a small, black kitten, with emerald green eyes. The kitten came up to the bars of the cage and put her paw on the metal bar and flexed her paw on the rod. I saw the sign next to her, her name was Victoria.

"She's so cute!" Jessie squealed next to me.

"Wish to hold her?" A employee asked.

"Sure." I said. She got Victoria out of the cage, and handed her to me. Her little hopeful eyes gleamed from the reflection of lights in the room. She nuzzled her nose against my arm.

"We'll take her." I said as Locke came running over to me with a cat in his arms. It was a small, black and white one with green eyes also.

"Meww!" He said. It was a loudish, high pitched meow, but still cute.

"I wanna nabe him Herb!" Shepard said from behind Locke. I laughed at the name. Herb. Herb the cat.

"This is Victoria." Jessie showed Locke and Shep Tori.

"Kittens for all!!" Locke and Shepard cheered.

Hallie's POV

I woke up yo something small padding my arms, two something smalls. For a second, I thought I was back home, not in a miserable hospital. I turned and opened my eyes, and saw the two cutest kittens in the world! The meowed and nuzzled against me, purring.

"Surprise!" All the McLaughlins said to me.

"Happy birthday Hallie!" Locke and Shepard said to me. I had almost forgot, today's my birthday!
