Hallie's POV

I walked outside, various Twitter notifications still going off, some good, others bad. It bothered me that I still had told nobody, but I had nobody to tell. Locke had a diving toirnament nack home, so mom took him and Shep home. She offered to take me, but I felt like I needed to stay.

Big mistake.

I see you. Not another.

About to drive by.

Where's your little internetainer? He should have told you not to go outside alone!

As a grey sedan drove by, I ducked atound the corner, feeling myself fall back over a rock. Of course, clumsy me. As I turned around, someone laughed. I froze in place, immedentally recognizing the voice.

No, not again. Not them. Please not them.

I felt a harsh kick to my kidney, and winced, trying to roll over, gaining myself another kick to a thigh. Just like old times. Retinking escape, I skirted closer to the wall, listening to chuckles aroumd the group.

As I walked out of the building, I smiled. Finally, now that it's summer, I can relax! My new "friends" have been "hanging out" with me almost every day this year. The thought from yesterday started to creep into, no. I need to forget what I almost did. At least I almost did it.

"Summers not over yet, Hallie!" Nick yelled, closely followed by Sarah, Jillian, and Felix. I sprinted down the hill, hoping to run away. Now I was right next to the river, one wrong step and I was going in. The last boy that fell in, well, he, he never got out.

"Ouch!" I yelped as a stone hit me in the shoulder, followed by more. I was too distracted to notice Jillian and Felix running up to me, pushing me into the Rapids.

How much I wish I had drowned in the water.
