After both Willow and Daniel had visited Aria, Willow wanted to talk to her dad and I went by and did my routinely visit. Willow doesn't know this, actually, no one knows this, but I visit Aria almost every week, but usually biweekly. I just let her know how her family has been doing and I usually ask for advice. Advice on how to take care of Willow and make sure that she is loved. I made my promises and then I met Willow in the car. She gives me a kiss on the cheek and we drive back to her house. Her dad sat quietly in the back seat the entire drive. I know that today was a hard day for all of them. Even though it was still early in the day, Willow had fallen asleep and when we got to the house I carried her to her room and I let her sleep. I find Daniel in the living room staring at the black TV.
"You okay?" I ask, walking into the living room.
"Yeah, it is just hard to believe that a year ago we lost her," he explains.
"It doesn't feel like a year. I know that today is a hard day for you guys, but I wanted to ask you about Willow's birthday. She says that she doesn't want to celebrate it because she is always reminded of her mother's death, but I want to give her new memories, so I was thinking that we surprise her with moving to our dorms. She has been looking forward to that all summer."
"I thought you couldn't move in until next week?"
"Move in started this past week. Classes start in two weeks."
"I think that is a great idea. We can load up the cars tonight and leave early tomorrow."
"Okay." I start to walk out of the room and go up to Willow, but Daniel stops me.
"Elijah, I just wanted to thank you for everything you have done for her the past year."
"There is no need to thank me. She is everything to me, I would have done it no matter what." Once I hit the stairs, I hear...
"Make sure that damn door stays open!" I chuckled and I head upstairs and I lay onto Willow's bed and I pull her close to me. I can't wait for her to be surprised.
I woke up to an arm wrapped around my waist. I turn and I see Elijah snoring away. He has bed head. So adorable. I brush some of his hair back and I turn and lay my head on his chest. To the rhythm of his heart, my eyes flutter shut and sleep overcomes me again. Hours later, I wake to an empty bed. Great, he pulled a disappearing act. I sit up in my bed and I look around and I see that all the boxes that I had are gone. Um, okay. Weird. I go to grab my phone, but there is a note sitting there. I pick it and up and it reads.
