The Gods Lied
The goddess of the mermaids screamed in horror.
"Luna, now!" Freya yelled.
My mother looked up, and muttered something under her breath.
"With my power, I offer these lands, protection," she yelled and raised her right hand.
A sphere of white light glowed from my mother's hand, and in a blink of an eye, the sphere grew as to the edge of the pack lands, casting out the other gods as it did.
"Oh, Klyde!" my mom cried, floating down towards me. I opened my arms and received her hug. A tender, motherly embrace.
"Everyone, we need to have a plan, the barrier is strong but it won't last forever," Freya said, my mother nodded in agreement, breaking the hug as she fixed her posture.
"How long will it last," Margaret asked, looking intently at the direction of the gods.
"Not long. About three days," my mom replied.
"That's more than enough," Aaron said.
My mates called the officers of the Gold Moon pack and organized a meeting as soon as possible.
Of course, both my mother and Freya were there to explain the situation.
"What's the plan?" Brandon asked, after the introductions.
"Before that," my mom started off. "We need to tell you a story."
All of our attentions were on her. "You all know that what resides in the supernatural is governed by me, the Moon Goddess. But as your population rises, and beings were clashing, I appointed each supernatural race, a god. The werewolves, vampires, witches and warlocks, mermaids, fairies, goblins and merpeople."
"But 17 years ago, I made a mistake. I fell in love with a human. 9 months later, I gave birth to Klyde. But the gods were furious, for a human is a race that is not in my domain. They told the Sun God. Klyde's father, Rudolf's, humanity was casted away. I never saw him since."
I gasped at what she said. My dad was a human? I couldn't believe it.
"But why is Klyde a werewolf?" Aaron interrupted. My mother only nodded her head.
"Good question, I posed him as a werewolf, because his mates are," she replied, bowing her head to the direction of my mates. "And even though he's half god and half human, I am after all, the mother of all supernatural."
"But why has Olivia lived? She's, I don't know, 40?" It was Stephen's turn to ask this time.
"Another good question," Freya answered. "They lied."
We were baffled by her answer. I shook my head and scrunched my face. "What?"
"What she meant was, it's not rare for a supernatural god to have mortal offsprings. But never with a human," my mom clarified. We all said our silent "Oh's".
"Now that that's cleared up, let's get through this," Freya said, she was quite excited and pumped up.
"Okay, first of..."
The sphere shattered like glass, like the barriers of Agatha and Vericka. It was three days since we planned this. And it'll work.
I hope.
My mom and Freya only floated above all of us, spectating, since they can't do anything.
"Are you sure about this?" the werewolf god said.
"Let the battle of the supernatural creatures and the gods commence!"
