Chapter 37 ༈ Noises

"So guys, I was wondering if I can go over Mj's to Study for a quiz we have in one of our classes and then when we're done she was thinking of watching a movie." You spoke as you looked at them.

"Is this movie at a theater or at her home?" Penelope questioned and you quickly answered. "At her house. With her knowing a majority of who I am I don't think she'll risk it you know." Brazen was eating a sandwich when he hummed for a response. "That's not an answer you goof." You told Brazen and he looked at you with a big smile.

"Okay that's disgusting." Penelope stated when she looked over at Brazen seeing the food from the sandwich sticking out of the corners of his mouth as he smiled.

"You know-" Brazen started to say but you cut him off as you laughed from his attempt. "Brazen.. no talking with your full. Nobody wants the pieces you have in your mouth falling out and onto the counter or the floor."

All he did was shrugged his shoulders as he continued to eat. "Then you have my permission to go over but the giant over here has to drop you off. I need to make a call." She said and you nodded your head as Brazen finished up.

~ Time Skip to later on at Mj's ~

"Alright here you are." Brazen spoke as he parked the car in front of a blue like house. He then continued on "Let me know when you're done, don't leave the house before I arrive here to get you and if anything were to happen call me. Anything at all." The tone he had, you knew he was being protective like usual and now he was being even more due to the circumstances.

"I will. I promise." Was what you stated as you grabbed your bag and got out of the car. Making you way up the stairs, you rang the doorbell and waited. As you waited you could hear Brazen complaining about how he wanted some cookies but Penelope didn't let him take one from the container. It made you giggle and that's when Mj opened the door.

"Hey girl. Come on in." She told you as she glanced behind you to see Brazen. She gave him a quick wave before closing the door behind you. That was when Brazen took off back home.

"Alright Follow me." She told you as she made her way up the stairs. You followed behind her and right into her room. "Okay, got your books?" She asked you and all you did was nodded your head in response.

~ Time Skip again to after studying ~

After about 2 hours of studying for your test, you both decided to watch a movie. "Alright which movie. Terminator, The Last Stand, Fast and Furious 7 or War of the Worlds." She asked and you loved them all but went for the last one because no one would want to miss a suspense thriller movie that had a twist of horror.

It could've been about halfway into the movie of when the main character was hiding in a basement with his daughter trying to be really quiet when you started to hear noises. "Mj are we alone in the house?" You asked out of curiosity.

Mj nodded her head and looked over at you. "My parents had to leave the last minute for a run at the store. The forgot to get something on their way home." She replied and that's when you heard it again. This time you made sure to actually pause the movie. "What's wrong?" She asked you once she saw the movie paused before her.

"I heard something. I'm pretty sure it wasn't the movie.." you responded and she looked back at you "I'm sure it's nothing. Maybe you're being paranoid based on everything you're currently going through. Just breathe." Was what she had mentioned to you.

It's nothing. It couldn't be anything. You're just being paranoid, says like every horror movie ever but like people say. You can really change anything about it. I'm still not believing it though because there has to be something going on. Maybe there's something or.... someone... around the house. Oh god I hope not. I don't want Mj hurt.

Taking a deep breath in then out, you decided I try and push it to the back of your mind but stay very aware just in case. After the movie was playing by Mj pressing the button on the remote, it could've been at least another 30 minutes before you started to hear more noises.

They were a bit louder than before which really had caught your attention; causing you to pause the movie faster then the first time you did. "Please tell me you heard that too and it wasn't just me and this so called paranoia you said I have." You told her and she looked straight at the window.

"Yeah I heard that.. I.. don't know what that was if I'm being really honest with you." Mj replies then continued "my parents shouldn't be home for a while though since they usually take long in the store." With that she looked over at you to see if you had any ideas.

"I can check to see if there's any animals around if that look you're giving me is what I think you're implying." You stated and she nodded her head. Looking back towards the window, your eyes tinted a light yellow as you used your animal manipulation. There was a cat digging in the garbage.

With this intel you decided to tell her what it was and she relaxed a bit but right when you were going to resume the movie once again, that's when the both of you spotted headlights turning into the driveway.

"I thought you said they took long at the store and wouldn't be home until later.." you muttered towards Mj and she just nodded her head. "Yeah... unless they finished early.. if so, I better get up to go help them in case. They tend to buy a lot of things and stuff." She told you then went to get up.

You grabbed her wrist quickly and looked at her "Are you positive it's them? For all I know it could be-... a stranger.." You asked and she took her hand back. "I'm not positive but if it is, they'll want me to help them." Mj responded as she headed towards the door.

Just then you heard exactly four car doors closing after being opened "Mj... you said your brother went with your parents right?" You asked her and she nodded her head. "Yeah... why?..." Was all she said as she reached for the handle.

The next thing you heard was ticking and got up quickly. "MJ GET AWAY FROM THE DO-" was all you were able to yell out as the front door blew up and caused both you and Mj to fly backwards.
