Chapter 31 ༈ Closer

Heads up: Thomas is getting one step closer to finding you. He's in New York but no where near where you are at the moment. He's just going around asking people if they have seen you. He then uses a way to try and communicate with you while you're at home sketching in your book Friday afternoon.

The only lead Thomas was able to retrieve was the last place you arrived at, New York; but he didn't know which part or what city you were in currently so he walked to streets in search of you. There was a bar that appealed to his taste so he decided to walk in. There weren't that many inside at the moment due to the time of day, but he kept on walking. He was able to find a lower level to the place that was decrepit.

Elbis was working at the moment as a transport for the organization Hydra when he heard footsteps. Now Elbis is an undercover agent who really works for Shield and not Hydra but he was placed on an a mission to see what they're transporting and where to. Not only that, but what Hydra is currently working on in the base. He's there inside man. So when he started to walk down the hallway, that's when he spotted Thomas walking down the same hallway but to him.

"Ahhh. Well it it ain't Elbis Pollo. What do I owe the great pleasure in running into you here?" Thomas asked with a mischievous smile and Elbis kept a straight face as he approached Thomas with their faces just a step away. "I'm doing my job. I can ask the same about you Thomas Net." He replied back.

Thomas smile never left his face and it was followed by an evil like laugh. "Oh Elbis. I'm just seeking information about my asset. I'm sure you'd understand right?" He mentioned and Elbis clenched his jaw. Elbis wanted so bad to just punch Thomas in the face but retaliated. "You know her right? (Y/n) Maximoff? She wears a lion headpiece while she's out accomplishing Hydra's orders?" Thomas continued and Elbis tried to keep calm by telling him in response. "No. I have not seen your asset. Now if you excuse me, I have other places to be." Thomas kept right on smiling and nodded before moving over.

There you were in your room sitting at your desk sketching away when you heard a Penelope yelling at Brazen not to grab a cookie while she's decorating them. You couldn't help but laugh at them for acting like kids at times. At school today you were able to tell your animal buds that you were okay. It was just something that she said to trigger some memories of your past. Some were convinced but Mj was still a bit on the curious side like Peter. The house was quiet now and it was both peaceful yet disturbing a bit.

Brazen was 'helping' Penelope decorate as she placed the ones she was finishing on a separate plate. That's when your head started to hurt a little bit and you winced, closing your eyes at the pain. "What the..." you muttered. You thought it was probably the person trying to communicate with you again so you decided to open your door with your telekinesis and call for Penelope. "Penelope! Come quick!" You said and ended up on your knees holding your head in your hands. Both Penelope and Brazen ran up the stairs and entered your room to see your on the ground.

"What's wrong?" Penelope asked as she quickly went over to you and sat in front of you. "I think it's him. The voice. I think he's trying to communicate with me again but it hurts this time." You told her and she glanced over at Brazen before looking back at you. "Look at me. Remember what I told you alright? I'm going to enter your mind to see who is trying to speak with you. Just try and relax." She told you and when you opened your eyes looking up at her, they were a yellow tint. Taking her advice, you started to take deep breaths in and out. "Good. Now try to relax." She added as she gently placed her hands on either side of your head. Penelope then closed her eyes to concentrate on the voice or the person trying to speak.

Going through your mind, she scanned through to find the voice. It took a bit but she eventually found it. A man's voice was speaking and she swore she had heard of it while her time in Hydra with Brazen. The first glimpse she got of a setting was a room. Looking around, she saw a woman and a man. She didn't know who the woman was at the moment but tried to focus her vision more on the male right beside her with his hands on her head. "Who are you.." Penelope whispered which you had heard but not Brazen. The vision on the man started to clear and she saw that it was in fact Thomas Net. He was using a woman to reach your mind. The woman could be identified as one of the teachers from the school you attended to.

Penelope must've did something because you no longer felt pain and the voice was gone. She broke the connection that was trying to be made. Looking up at her after she opened her eyes, you told her "it's gone. The voice.. the pain.. thank you Penelope." She smiled lightly at you and you gave her a hug but as she hugged you back, she gave a concerned look at Braz.

"Just get some rest. Everything should be fine now." She told you as she pulled away and helped you stand up. "Dinner would be ready soon and I'll send goof here to fetch you." Penelope stated and pointed to Brazen who said "hey.." in a whiny tone which made you laugh. "Okay." Was all you said before they left the room. You went back over to your desk to close your sketchbook and saw the sketch you had drawn.

It was a building but you didn't know where it was located which was what you found weird. "Huh.." You said underneath your breath and closed the book. Meanwhile, downstairs Penelope was telling Brazen who she saw and what he was trying trying to do. Brazen wasn't so happy of this new information. "He's getting closer to her." He mentioned to Penelope.
