"His name is Mason," Matt said glumly. "Whoever he is, he tried to kill my sister."
"Mason Byrnes," Jaz said, and shrugged. "I did some research."
"We find this guy, we find out who took Bane and Raphael," I clenched my fists.
"Where do we start?" The serious expression on Matt's face didn't fade one bit.
"Here's his home address," Jaz replied. "23 Shine Street, Everdale."

"Hey, there's no need to worry, okay?" Mason put an arm around her, a wide smile on his face.
"No, it's just..." Lisa started to chew on her lip. "I'm afraid my brother will come looking for you."
"Why would they? I haven't done anything wrong."
"Remember the night of the party? When we..." Lisa blushed.
"Kissed?" Mason grinned. "Yeah, I remember."
"Yeah, so I got home, and my lips began to burn and then they started to bleed. I passed out, and when I woke up, my brother was asking me all these questions."
"Oh, are you...are you okay?" He stroked her cheek lightly. "Is it some sort of allergic reaction?"
"I don't know, Mason. But the thing is, my brother blamed it on you. He said your kiss poisoned me."
"Ha," Mason smirked, and stood up, a hand in his hair. "Okay, so your brother blames me for poisoning you with my kiss."
"Yeah," Lisa said. "I mean, you wouldn't do something like that, would you?"
"Lisa, we've been together for over a week now. How many times have I already kissed you?" He bent down to plant a kiss on her forehead. "I would never try to harm you."
"I'm sorry about my brother. He must be thinking too much," Lisa said. "I'm sorry, Mason. I would never doubt you again."
"It's okay," Mason took her hand, pulled her up from the bed. "You see, Lisa, I have always wanted you. Now that I have you, I would do anything to make sure you stay."
"I'm sorry, Mason," Lisa said again. "How can I make it up to you?"
"You can just kiss me," Mason gave her his seducing smile, his arm tightening around her waist.
God, what a stupid, stupid girl.
That was all he could think of when she reached up, and pressed her soft lips to his.

I rapped, hard, on the wooden door. I could hear echoes reverberating inside. The house seemed...empty.
"I don't think anyone lives here," I said.
"We'll see if you're right," Matt said, and he began ramming against the door with his broad shoulder. I could hear the hinges straining under his weight.
"Matt what if there's-"
The door burst open, and Matt stumbled inside, nearly tripping over his own feet.
"Well well well," I looked up at the tall, curly-haired guy who stood before us with his arms folded over his chest. "What the hell do you guys think you're doing?"
"You bastard," Matt said, and without warning fisted him in the face.
"What the hell!" Mason cursed loudly, holding his jaw. "Who the hell are you people?"
