"WHAT THE HELL DID YOU JUST DO TO HIM?!?!" Kimmy screamed at Larry, running to her husband lying dead on the floor. She cried as she held his bloody head in her lap.
"That..." he said as pointed to the black blood spattered body with his revolver, "was not Daniel."
Holly ran over to Ben, trying to stop the bleeding from his neck but to no avail. Ben took his last few breaths staring at his girlfriend Natalie, who sat up against the wall in shock. Isaac leaned back as he crawled away from the carnage. What the fuck just happened?
"What do you mean?" Kimmy asked sobbingly.
Members of the party ran from up the stairs in a fury to see what had just transpired, gasping at the sight of two blood covered bodies on the floor.
"Daniel attacked Ben and killed him. Then he tried to attack Natalie," Larry answered looking solemn. "Then when Isaac got him off of Natalie, I shot him."
"What the..." Krissy mouthed, then ran to comfort her sister in the corner of the room.
Larry quickly explained his logic behind what he had done. "Whatever the rain or gas did to him, it made him into this. That was not human what he did. He tore out Ben's throat and started eating him, you all saw it," glancing around at Isaac and the other witnesses.
Isaac thought about it for a moment and then quickly put it together. "Jesus... then that would mean everyone who was infected by it-"
"-will turn into that." Larry finished his sentence, pointing back over to the corpse Kimmy held.
The reality and gravity of the situation hit everyone at once like a brick. Then a wave of fear swept through the room, but before they could go into a full blown panic, Isaac rose up from the ground and instinctively said, "We need to go back to my farm in Kentucky right now."
Larry turned around and faced the group, commanding the room with his voice, "Everyone, grab your stuff and stay together in the basement. Isaac, you and your friends, follow me."
Isaac pulled Jess aside while running to the basement, "Please bring Adam down for me. You're the only one I trust."
"I will, I promise." She and Brandon split off into Isaac's old bedroom while the others ran down the stairs. Natalie and Kimmy however remained unmoved in a state of shock. Krissy ran back and said something to them to get them up and moving. Whatever she said, it did the trick, because together the three went to collect their dogs from the room next to them and joined the party downstairs.
Larry followed everyone but directed orders as he trailed behind them. "Alright, Warren, Paul, Cameron, Arthur, you're going to move the food into the Equinox in the garage, when you're done come back and help in the storage room. Isaac, Rob, Sean, with me. Everyone else grab whatever you brought over. We're not gonna make another trip back here." He quickly hobbled into the storage room, unlocked his gun safes, and began passing out the weapons locked within to Isaac and his friends with him. Larry tossed his car keys to Isaac and said to him, "As quietly as you can, lift the garage door, and start stashing my guns in the trunk of my Tahoe. We're gonna clear this out and get the hell out of here."
With no hesitation, they moved the supplies in double time. With his arms full of assault rifles, Isaac steadily stepped to the garage. He sat down his flashlight and the weapons in hand, and as noiselessly as possible raised the garage door from the handle on the ground. He opened up the door and searched around outside for signs of any threats. He saw nothing, but he could hear the neighbors blood curling screams echoing in the distance. Running through the sound of terror, Isaac sprinted to the Tahoe, unlocked and propped open the backdoor, and slid in his first handful of supplies.
