A thin outline of the sun shone in the blackened sky. Isaac was thankful for it, even if it was only slight. He felt slightly drowsy, so he closed his eyes and meditated on the sun. Line your Third Eye and your Crown Chakras to the Light. For that moment, as he aligned himself with the sun, he felt its energy. The vibrations of light waves rang within his body, buzzing in every cell within his being. His limbs felt light. He lifted up his arm and it felt like a feather to him, like a puppet lifted by a puppeteer. The ether of air fared no resistance to his body. It startled him, causing him to open his eyes.
He could still feel the vibrations in his hand when he looked down at them, but it slowly faded away back into its regular frequency. Isaac felt high from the experience. Talk about recharging your batteries. I need to meditate more during the days, I have the time for it. You know what? I think it's time to step it up a notch. It's more than just practicing Yoga everyday. Set your Sankalpa, your intention; Tomorrow, you'll begin meditating three times a day, early morning, noon, and night; do a Yang practice in the morning, practice Archery, your Wushu forms in the afternoon, Yin in the evening to wind down. In between that, you'll do whatever chores need to be done around the house. I vow this to myself, that I will do all these things and more. As he made his promise, the wave of truth buzzed a pulse up his spine acknowledging his Sankalpa.
His concentration broke when Warren asked him a question. "Want to take a look at the list? Start getting an idea of where we need to go in first."
"Yeah sure," he said, taking the list from his friend. He skimmed through the piece of paper relatively quickly. A few things needed would be in the small Surgical Supply Closet on the second floor, but it appeared they would also have to stop with the Oxygen Supply closet and the Pharmacy Services room too. He closed his eyes and scanned through the layout of the two connected octagonal buildings in his mind, formulating a plan.
Okay, most of the things we need are in the building on the left. There's an Oxygen Supply closet that's close to the front entrance so that should be the first stop. The Pharmacy Services room is on the far side of the same building, so we can either continue going left around the octagon to get there, or if we for some reason can't go left, we can doubleback and go right down that long straight hallway. Both sides have emergency exits but the right sides exits lead into the courtyard in the middle of the facility, so let's give preference to the left hallway in case we need to get out of their quickly. Then we can take the emergency stairs near the pharmacy to go up, go past the Physical Therapy room and the Occupational Therapy room on the left, and to the Surgical Closet in the middle of the two buildings. We clean out what we need, then we can either hit the emergency stairs of the building on the right next to the elevator, or we can go back down the stairs by the Pharmacy. Carrying the carts will be a little awkward up and down the stairs but I see no other way around it, elevators aren't gonna be working.
He had to admit he was pretty impressed with himself for coming up with this plan on the spot. Man, all of these action RPG games really has me prepared for this kinda shit. He was thankful for the problem solving skills he had acquired through all of the video games he had played. He saw and understood how he and his friends, especially Rob, had also benefited from this unintended and accidental skill.
Fifteen minutes and they had passed the town of Petersburg and arrived to the long, car filled driveway of the nursing home. It was a facility that had capabilities to house over 200 patients, but often it was filled with only half of that. It made sense that people came there for treatment with the belief that maybe they could potentially get a room and some basic medical assistance.
As they approached, he cautioned Warren to drive slowly up the hill. Traces and trails of footprints could be made in the grass downhill, Looks like the infected in the town and at Lacey's farm came from here after all. He hoped that all of the infected had cleared out from the area before they exposed themselves. "Park in the front a little bit past the overpass."
