The Daughter of the Gods Book 1: A New Beginning

Chapter 23: Atlantia

We begin to load up the lifeboats when I begin to see robots begin to attack the helicarrier. I was about to release my wings when I see the War machine and Iron Man begin to destroy the robots up in the sky. In the comms, I could hear them talking.

"Yes, Now this is going to be a good story." Rhodey says happily.

"Yep. If you live to tell it." Tony states.

"You think I can't hold my own?" Rhodey asks hurt.

"We get through this, I'll hold your own." Tony responds.

"You had to make it weird." Rhodey said. I got a little distracted but then I realized if my plan was going to work, I need to get started now.

"Guys I have a plan." I shout into the comms.

"Not now Atlantia. We're out of time they are coming for the core." Thor says into the comms.

"Rhodey get the rest of the people on board that carrier!" Tony tells him.

"On it." He replies.

"Avengers, time to work for a living." Tony continues. The quickest way to get to Thor and Vision would be to shadow travel but I didn't want to waste energy like that so I just partially shifted by letting my wings appear and started to fly. I noticed Natasha and Clint had to just run there so I grabbed her and Clint and carried them to the meeting point. I see everyone had already beat us here.

"If Ultron gets a hand on the core, we lose." Tony tells us when we get there. Just as he tells us this Ultron shows up Thor steps in front of the entire group.

"Is that the best you can do?" Thor taunts Ultron. Ultron then summons his army of robots.

"You had to ask." Steve said sarcastically.
"This is the best I can do." Ultron says gesturing to his army." This is exactly what I wanted. All of you against me. How could you possibly hope to beat me?" I step forward.

"With me." I tell him. I send a wave of power destroying every robot but him. He looks at me shocked and I can feel everyone else is shocked as well.

"Ok what just happened?" Rhodey said over comms.

"You know with the benefit of hindsight..." Ultron is interrupted when the Hulk knocks him far away.

"We gotta move out. Even I can feel the air is getting thin. You guys get to the boat. I'll sweep for stragglers, be right behind you." Steve said breaking everyone out of their shock.

"What about the core?" Clint asks.

"I'll protect it, its my job." Wanda claims

"No its mine." I tell her," If I am going to lower the city back down, I need everyone off but Thor."

"Why do you need me?" Thor asked confused.

"I can draw extra energy from you so there is higher chance of survival on my part." I inform him. Steve looks happy at that.

"Thor help get everyone on the lifeboats then meet me here." I order," Everyone else get your ass on a lifeboat." They all immediaetly scatter. I have to fight off the occasional robot but nothing too difficult. I then spot a jet coming toward the Avengers. I am immediately bombarded with a vision and I have to watch someone die. Once it finishes, I see Clint run toward a kid and Ultron aiming his guns toward them. I see Pietro noticing it and it didn't take someone who could read minds or see the future to know what he was about to do. I gather power and I cast a shield over Pietro, Clint, and the kid. Ultron fires his weapons and Pietro runs in front of Clint and the kid. The bullets stop and once the dust settles, I see Pietro, the kid, and Clint bullet-free. I breathe out a sigh of relief. I see the Hulk jump onto the jet that Ultron was flying and I see him get thrown out of the plane. I use my powers and slam him into the ground effectively killing him. I look around the city with my soul searching power and find that everyone has boarded the lifeboats but Cap,Pietro, and Wanda.
"Cap, Pietro, and Wanda get your asses onto a lifeboat. Everyone in the city has evacuated but you." I yell at them through the comms. I use my power to see that they had listened to me. "Thor get over here. Its time to initiate the plan." He flys over to me and offers me his hand. I take it and close my eyes. I search for the core and slowly use my powers to deactivate it so it doesn't make the city go higher. This in turns makes it start to fall to the surface. Thor stumbles but I immediately summon all my powers over the sky amd I was able to stop the city from hitting the ground. It had fallen about half way down to the surface. I breathed in a shaky breathe because I was straining my energy to hold it here. I reached for Thor's hand and draw some energy from him while he summons lightening to give me energy. I slowly let the city drop. I can hear voices on the comms but I don't know what they are saying. I have finally lowered the city to about 10,000 feet. I could feel my energy level dropping significantly. As I start to lower the city another thousand feet, I see Ultron step into the church. Before either Thor or I could intercept him, Vision appears.

"Your afraid," Vision says to him.
"Of you?" Ultron scoffs.

"Of death." Vision corrects," You're the last one."

"You were supposed to be the last. Stark asked for a savior, and settled for a slave." Ultron sneered.

"I suppose we're both disappointments." Vision said matter-factly.

"I suppose we are." Ultron chuckled. As they talked, I had reached about 5,000 more feet before the city reaches the surface.

"Humans are odd. They think order and chaos are somehow opposites, and try to control what won't be. But there is grace in their failings. I think you missed that." Vision stated.

"They're doomed." Ultron declared.

"Yes." Vision agreed," But a thing isn't beautiful because it lasts. It's a privilege to be among them."

"You're unbearably naive." Ultron accuses.

"Well I was born yesterday." Visions responds. At this Ultron attacks him but Vision easily defeated him with the mind stone. I refocused on my task at hand now that I had lowered the city to about 1000 feet. Now that I was close to the surface, I used my powers over the Earth to help bring the city down safely. Tentacles made of the Earth grabbed the city and helped me bring it down. Finally, I was able to set the city down with minimal impact so no buildings fell and nobody died because of it. Once it was safe to release all my powers, I did and I collapsed. Thor immediately ran to my side and began to feed me ambrosia and nectar. After I ate and drank some of the ambrosia and nectar, he flew me to the helicarrier. I was placed in some medical wing and I saw some doctors checking me before falling unconscious.
