--- Safiya POV ---

I feel sick. I am very feverish right now to. And my head hurts. At the moment one of the physicians are checking up on me to see what is the matter with me. You see I was walking down one of the halls when I slipped over something and fell on something else. Next thing I know, I'm waking up on a bed with physicians all around me. My head really hurts. My sight is really blurry and I feel really nauseous. I've thrown up multiple times already. I've been fading in and out of consciousness for who knows how long. I focused in on the voices I was hearing. "Well she should be fine. All she needs is rest... From what I can see she has a concussion. Just make sure she doesn't fall and hit it again. So she should probably remain in bed to prevent further injury. Nausea is a side effect of a concussion, so she will more then likely continue to throw up. The priests have already put a spell on her so she should be back to normal in a few days."

I couldn't hear anyone respond, but soon I heard shuffling and a door opening and shutting; and so I presumed everyone left. After that I forced my eyes open. Everything was blurry and I felt dizzy. I soon focused on a figure in the room. "You're a klutz!" It spoke and I instantly recognized the voice as Darius. "Darius? What are you?" I couldn't get anymore words out or see to well but I heard footsteps walking towards me. I couldn't see him, but I knew he was next to me due to his breath; hitting my face. I started to feel my conscious fade and my eyes shut. Before I lost consciousness I felt a hand on my cheek causing sparks to shoot through the touch. Then I felt a dip in the bed and arms go around my waist and pull me against a chest. I knew it was Darius. Despite the fact I was half out of it. I could feel his breathing on my neck. Then before I completely nodded off I heard him say to himself. "Please don't scare me like that again." Then I blacked out.

When I awoke I heard some kind of conversation going on. So for the sake of ease dropping, I remained to pretend I was asleep. "You love her... Admit it! Even a blind person could see that much." Said a voice I recognized as Dalila. "What is it you really want to know Dalila? I know you... You wouldn't ask me if you didn't already know the answer." She sighed. "Always straight to the point... Okay fine... I want to know why you killed Safiya's family... And why you tried to kill her... I don't understand why you would do that. I've tried to figure it out but I can't." I pulsed at her statement. The room became awkwardly quiet. "Why should I tell you that? It's got nothing to do with you. Just mind your own business." She responded back immediately. "You're right... It isn't my business... But none the less, she is my cousin and most of all my best friend and I care about her.  You are my brother and I care about you as well, so excuse me for feeling the need to know why you would kill her too?"

"It doesn't make any since. Something doesn't add up about it and I know you liked her back then to, it wasn't just me. I can't understand why you would want her dead. Something doesn't add up about it Darius! I know what happened I just can't understand why it happened!" It became eerily quiet. His voice became mockingly. "So you know what happened? Well Dalila did you know her and her brother were supposed to be visiting their aunt; when I ordered that massacre?" My body pulsed under his words. That's true. We were supposed to be at my aunts. Does that mean he never wanted to kill me or my brother? Then why would he target my parents? I heard laughing and it wasn't from Darius. "I get it now. I understand perfectly. You assumed she and her brother were still at their aunt's house when you ordered her household to be wiped out. That way her and her brother would be left without guardians."

"Then being their nearest family, they would naturally come live with us. Very cunning of you brother... The only thing you didn't count on was her crybaby of a brother getting homesick and then coming back early." The room was tensely quiet. I may not have been looking at Darius... But I could tell he was pissed off. Then to make it worse Dalila continued. "But that wasn't all... Was it Darius? You were going to set up the massacre and make it look like an accident... Which is exactly what you did. However, You were going to make sure Safiya and John were left clueless about their parent's deaths. You were never going to tell her you killed her parents. But, I bet that wasn't all either... You planned from the get go to marry her didn't you? You were going to wait tell she matured more and then go for it then, after all, she was only 12. Then once you found that she 'died' in that fire/massacre... You were heartbroken, despite how you appeared to me."

"So you started distracting yourself by playing around with girl after girl after girl. Which is why you have so many concubines now, even though originally, you didn't plan on having one." I never realized how perceptive Dalila was. "Tell me brother, was what I said correct." Next thing I hear is chuckling. "You are far more intelligent and observant than I've given you credit for... Dalila." The room became quiet and I was terrified one of them my notice my rapid breathing. "I won't accept or deny any of your accusations... Dalila... Besides, I'm quite sure you have far come to your own conclusion anyway... Now if you don't mind I have somewhere else to be." I heard footsteps then the sound of a door opening. "So now what will you do... Are you going to force her to marry you? Keep all of the concubines while you're at it... Or will you just kill them off to?" I heard more chuckling and footsteps and then the shutting of a door. It didn't take long for me to realize I was alone.
