"Vale. Vale! Valentina, wake up! You're phone is going off like crazy for the past half an hour and it's annoying me!" Carlos shakes me, waking me up. I've been sound asleep for the past fourteen hours. This nap, turning into a hibernate, was much needed.

"Give me my phone." I answer groggy with my eyes still have closed. I sit up straight in my bed and let my eyes adjust to the bright light of my screen. All the messages and missed calls appear to be from an unknown person. Opening the chat I see that person has been trying to get my attention for the past 40 minutes. Carlos is reading the texts from over my shoulder and asks if it's a prank caller.

"Well I don't hope so because it would be pretty f'd up because this person says Richard's in the hospital." I exclaim at Carlos. Stress and anxiety take over my body when I read that word, 'hospital'. I don't need two loved ones in the hospital at the moment. Still doubting if it's a good idea I press call. Carlos shrieks up and looks at me if I'm stupid.

"Hello, hola, Valentina?" A smooth voice from the other side of the line answers me. I look up at Carlos in confusion at he motions to me to put the call on speaker. I nod at him and lay the phone down on my phone, pressing the speaker button.

"Yes?" I softly ask.

"Ok good. I'm Yashua, Richard's brother." The unknown caller sighs in relieve. It finally clicks in my head, Richard's talked about him before. "The reason I was trying to reach you is because Richa—"

"Give me the phone!" A different male voice at the other side of the call orders. I hear some shuffling around before I hear him. "Vale. I'm so sorry—"

"What did you do?" I sigh, pinching the bridge of my nose. Carlos looks a little uncomfortable at me, not knowing if he should leave my room or not.

"Well, funny story—" He starts, awkwardly chuckling.

"Yashel." I sternly interrupt. I don't like it when people circle around the topic.

"So, we went to SkyZone, you know." He starts his story, I nod but forget he can't see me so I softly say 'yeah'. "At SkyZone everything was fun and shit so I did a backflip and yeah, my ankle didn't take it very well."

"It's broken, hm?" I ask, slightly getting mad because I told him to be careful.

"Yes." He mumbles softly.

"Richard Yashel, lo juro c*ñ—" Carlos is fast to snatch my phone out of my hands before I end my sentence full with curse words. I look at him with wide eyes. He takes the phone off speaker and places it next to his ear. I try to snatch it back but he is much taller than I am so he holds the phone a little higher.

"Hey Richard, Carlos aquí. Valentina is just really worried about you so don't mind her swearing." Carlos walks out of my room and I follow him, trying to reach my phone. Every time I try to get it, he turns around. He's silent for a minute and I hear the other side talking, he nods his head in understanding before speaking.

"You in Miami, right? I can send Valentina to the airport in like an hour or two, maybe three?" He says.

"Carlos!" He finally looks at me, with an annoyed expression. "Y mamá? No quiero ir!" I exclaim. He pauses for a second and places his hand over the microphone of my phone.

"Mamá woke up like three hours ago. I already went to see her, she's doing better. The doctors even said she can leave soon. I didn't want to wake your ass because you were so knocked out I didn't even dare to wake you." Carlos speaks, he turns back to the phone. "Yeah, I'll send her to Miami in a few." With that he ends the call and gives me the phone back.

"I will not go." I say like a little child, crossing my arms. "I am going to mamá. And since when do you want me to go to him?" I curiously eye him.

"Yes, you will go. If you do not go you will ruin your reputation you have since you have been seen with him. It's your job!" He says, walking to the kitchen. I follow him and grab an apple for myself. "And indeed, it's weird to send my little sister off to Miami to go to her so called boyfriend. Oh and you need to grab your stuff right now then we can go to mamí. Our mamí, not you. And then after you go to Miami." He simply shrugs. I take a minute to process all the information but eventually nod while going to my room. My phone lights up again with a message. It's a message from Richard with the link to an airplane ticket to Miami. I shake my head and send him a quick 'thanks, c*ño' before locking my phone.

"Mamá!" I exclaim in joy when the two of us walk into her room. She was talking to a nurse but I could care less. I hugged her like there is no tomorrow. Eventually I let go because the nurse told me I was a little too excited and she needed to rest. For the next hour and a half I spent on talking with my mother before I needed to leave. I insisted on staying longer but both she and Carlos forced me to go because otherwise I would miss my plane. They know me too well. Saying that goodbye to mamá was harder than it usually would have been because this was a wake up call that she's really sick.
I shake all of the negative thoughts off of me before stepping on the plane. Let's go to that dumbass who broke his ankle.
