The Beach. CB. Under Review

chapter ten

"Remember to call me when you land," my dad told me as Hayden and I got ready to board our plane.

"Okay, Dad," I laugh. He's told me that at least six times since we got to the airport.

"I'm not kidding, Andy," he said sternly.

"I'll remind her Mr. Smith," Hayden assured him.

"Good. Also don't forget to call your parents," he reminds her.

"Yes sir," she nods obediently.

"Flight 324 is now boarding, Flight 324 is now boarding," the lady's voice on the intercom came through.

"That's us. We gotta go Dad," I told him and gave him a hug. He hugged me tightly.

"I love you, Andy," he said.

"I love you too, Dad," I smiled as I pulled away.

"Be safe, girls," he told us as we walked away to the correct gate.

"Jesus, I thought he'd never let us leave man," I complained once we got on the plane.

"He just cares about you, asshole," Hayden laughs. I laugh with her.

"I know, but sometimes it's overbearing," I confess.

"Hey, you know what would be a good pastime while we fly?" she says.

"What?" I ask.

"A vlog," she smirks.

"Oh, no,"  I shake my head. I had done the poll on Instagram, but I had yet to film an actual vlog.

"Come on, Andy, you're going to have to do it eventually," she shrugs.

"Fine, but I'm not promising that I'll post it," I pull my camera out of my carry-on bag, and turn it on. She smiles.

"Hey guys, it's me, uh- Andy," I say to the camera.

"And she's with uh- Hayden," Hayden mocks me.

"Shut up, I'm nervous," I laugh.

"So obviously, as you guys know, I don't do vlogs. However I've decided to make an exception because that's what the people wanted," I smile.

"Tell them where we're going Andy," Hayden speaks up from beside me. I pan the camera from me, to her, then back to me.

"We're currently on a flight to LA, to meet up with yes, you guessed it, Sam and Colby," I breathe. My mind wanders to the fact that Colby hardly contacted me at all this past week. I don't linger on that thought too long, though.

"They invited us!"  Hayden said excitedly.

"They did. I can't begin to express how grateful I am that they've given me this opportunity to not only travel to California, but to explore more abandoned places with them. I've been such a massive fan of theirs for so long, it's definitely a dream come true," I nod. Hayden 'aww's'.

"That was so sweet babes," Hayden smiles at me. I laugh.

"It's all true," I shrug.

"Speaking of, tell them where we're staying in LA," she smirks again.

"Sam and Colby have been so gracious as to let us stay in the trap house with them so obviously, I'm how do you say it? Losing my shit," I laugh. Hayden snorts while scrolling on her phone.

"So, if everyone could go show Sam and Colby's channel lots of love, that would be amazing. Stay tuned for our landing," I say and turn off the camera.
