My hurting heart

January 17... It is a cold winter night, but no amount of coldness can stop the members from celebrating Chani's birthday. 

Inseong made a reservation at a restaurant in Cheongdamdong and celebrated Chani's birthday together with the members including Chani's friend, Ki Jung. 

The birthday boy sat in between Ki Jung and Jaeyoon. Taeyang beside Hwiyoung and Youngbin and Juho while Rowoon sat beside Dawon and Hwiyoung, facing Chani. 

While waiting for the food to arrive Dawon started sharing funny stories about how Chani gets mad at the smallest things. 

"You should never ever climb up to Chani's bed when you're still not washed up" he said while pointing at the celebrant. "He will never forgive you, i swear" he added causing the others to laugh so loud 

"I need to use the bathroom" Rowoon politely excused himself and elbowed Dawon

It took him 10 minutes long before he came back, but this time he was holding a cake

The other members started singing a happy birthday song to Chani causing him to let out some fake sobs

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHANI-YAAAA" they all chanted in unison. 

Just when he's about to blow the candles, a soft voice, almost coming out as a whisper, stopped him, sending chills down his spine

"Make a wish" 

Chani stared at Rowoon for about 5 seconds before blowing the candle.

 "Thank you" 

The room was filled with a lot of cheers and greetings from the members. The energy is a lot more high than the usual. Maybe because it is their maknae's special day. 

"Chani-ya you've been spending your birthdays with us for years and yet you haven't even treated us to a decent dinner" Youngbin complained 

"I need to feed myself first" the younger rolled his eyes and laughed. "Anyway, where are your gifts? You kept on nagging me for not treating you but you don't even give me a present" he added, sounding a bit disappointed with his hyungs

"Psh, great things comes to those who wait. I'll give you a car" Hwiyoung uttered 

"But first, he has to pass his driving test" Rowoon said jokingly while taking a sip of his water. "You've been taking that test for 2 years and still, you haven't passed. You're a legend Kang Chani"

Everyone inside the VIP room laughed at Rowoon's words.

"It's not my forte, you know" the younger replied and furrowed his eyebrows, glaring at Rowoon

Ki Jung noticed how Rowoon looks at Chani. That kind of look that holds thousands of hidden meanings. And he also notices how Chani blushes everytime Rowoon gives his attention to the younger. What struck him the most is the fact that they look so close and awkward at the same time. He started to become suspicious about the real relationship of the two and so he just kept on observing the taller male all throughout the dinner. 

Meanwhile, Chani then noticed that Ki Jung has been stealing glances at Rowoon which made him think that maybe, just maybe, Ki Jung likes the taller male. 

They all spent the last 30 minutes laughing and talking about some random stuff before they decided to go home. 

All members went inside the same car exceptt Chani who boarded Ki Jung's car. Ki Jung wanted Chani to go separately because he wanted to have some private time together with the younger.

"Where are you taking him?" Rowoon asked Chani's friend before boarding their company car

Ki Jung gave Rowoon a smile before answering. "Playground"
