Yeah, I'm doing this even though I have almost no experience writing.

Let's just start, okay?

1- Put yourself a deadline for updating:

I normally give myself one week for my books, and I try to update them in the same day (I'm not following this rn but I'll try xD)

2- Next to the chapter, put its number:

It will help your readers and yourself keeping track of the evolution of your book.

3- Put a name to each chapter:

Something that tells you what is going on in the chapter, or a phrase that you used while writing it.

4- Give a brief description of each character when they appear on the book:

A summary of the appearance and the personality can help readers imagine the characters. You can tell even less thing sif you're writing a fanfic and the reader already knows the character.

5- If it's a romantic fanfic:

5.1: Don't make them fall in love the second they meet!

5.2: You can always use the good old love triangle. People always love a love triangle and you can't discuss me on this.

6- Pepper some angst in the book!

You can always hurt your characters a little, don't make them boring!

7- Use the different fonts on Wattpad:

You can use this and this to make emphasis on a word instead of saying something like 'he said, making emphasis on the {insert word}' . You can also use this for letters.

8- Put the trigger warnings in the description and not in the chapters:

If your book has abuse and a character death, put all of the warnings in the description and not in the chapter. In the chapter you can put 'Trigger warning (said in the description of the book)'. That can prevent future spoilers, like if in a chapter a character is ill and in the next you put 'trigger warning: character death', we all know what is gonna happen.

9- Imagine your story before you write it:

I normally imagine it for days, like if it was a movie inside of my head. Then I wonder if it's long, interesting and original enough to be an actual idea for a book. Then I divide it into pieces and I start thinking how much chapters will it take me (it normally takes me more chapters than I think at the first time). Lastly, I write it. It also inspires me to draw scenes of the book uwu

Oof, I finished! Hope this is useful for you! When I publish this I'm gonna start with another chapter for my shortest jeffmads book, because the thing is becoming interesting there xD.
